Speedy deletion of SecureBurn

[edit]

Hello. You requested the speedy deletion of SecureBurn under WP:CSD#G11. The user who created the article (User:Peter_Mond) also created the Fluxdvd and MpDRM articles recently. I am unable to determine whether these qualify as advertising or not (though they definitely lack third party sources). What's your take? — Yavoh 00:25, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I hope you're feeling better. Regarding the above article, since you have advised the author of COI issues, and it has not been improved from its current state, I'll go ahead and delete it. ... discospinster talk 03:19, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinion?

[edit]

Hi again. I'm asking you this question since you are a far more experienced editor than I am. I'm on new page patrol as well, and I'm a little confused about what to do about the article Kulla Chor. I'm confused as to what the article is about (is it a city? the person who excavated it? someone involved with its founding?) but it doesn't seem to belong under any deletion category I can find. What do you think? — Yavoh 17:57, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Paprikash

[edit]

Sorry. I tried to figure that out how to make people who are looking for Paprikash to end up on the article Goulash, whwere this dish is described. It was a misstake, I still do not understand how to do this.

Thank you, Thorsteinn! I've noticed that you fixed the problem. And thanks for the explanation. I hope I will be able to manage now.

May I contact you later if I have further questions?

request for copy of deleted article

[edit]

Hello-- I would like to request a copy of the recently deleted article Foxfire (band) so that I can revise and resubmit it.

Thanks, --Stephen

Hi. I saw you already added an {{expert}} template to the article. I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be adding to the article over the next couple of days, so I was hoping that you wouldn't mind if I remove the template. Thanks! --Wizard191 (talk) 01:41, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Campus Radio

[edit]

If you are the indvidual that was willing to do something on the supernatural in Shakespeare (and other plays)

The Halloween play list for WCR is under disscussion here : http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Talk:Wiki_Campus_Radio/Active_audio_stream

At present it's being done very much on the wing so to speak... ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:51, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Crazyaboutlost

[edit]

The content appears to have been moved to SSP, and the page itself has been deleted. So it looks like the problem has solved itself. --TheCatalyst31 ReactionCreation 03:14, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Caillou

[edit]

Actually, that was the first thing I would have thought as well, but I would be willing to swear that it was debunked somewhere. (I googled "caillou cancer" and...Wow, people seriously hate that kid. Not that I'd pass up an opportunity to slap an extra-wide piece of duct tape across his mouth, but...I mean, dang. The blogosphere is a scary place, yo. But here's the thing: Look at this page. That's Wikipedia's text, including a whole bunch of C-R-A-P CRAP about "the infamous petition"--a.k.a some mommyblog somewhere; the "he has cancer" thing which has NEVER been cited reliably--eleventeen thousand blogs do NOT constitute the truth!!--So whatever gets incorporated into Wiki is going out there and essentially creating its OWN truth. If the facts happen to be correct, cool--but no one seems to mind if opinions are added as fact, and all sorts of idiocy ensues. (End of rant.) Apparently the publisher of the Caillou books gave an answer, something about how he was a baby in the original books, and then as he grew they didn't want to add hair because they thought it would confuse the little ones. PBS apparently gave a different answer, but I can't find the original sources anywhere for any of it. Personally, though, I think the burden of proof is on the people who want the info included; otherwise I could say "Caillou is bald because he made Rosie mad one day and she ripped all his hair out in one of her tiny little fists" and make people PROVE it didn't happen that way. Now I'm gonna have to go scrounge up that citation where it says he doesn't have cancer. (BTW, the itch is slowly improving; aside from an allergy to dust mites, the doctor's appointment told me nothing. But it could be worse! :) Gladys J Cortez 00:07, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up; our anonymous cancer-adding friend will now be cooling his heels for 31 hours. Gladys J Cortez

An English language entry by a qualified literate English author (with valid external links to topical and recent national British News Media) promptly marked for deletion by an Icelandic moderator BEFORE the article was even finished. Why?

Educate or castigate

[edit]

Thor, the new page was tagged by you personally for deletion only minutes after it was actually started (and still being written) hence no explanation of either grammatical, policy or content errors....and also prior to me actually having time to add the 3 external links you mention were missing. These are:

[edit]

The third link actually includes the full national newspaper double page article reproduced in full (and since published in mainland Iberia where the subject is also linked with the exit statergy of King of Qatar)

http://www.ccs24.co.uk/media.asp

Three independent national media sources and also several from another national may be suitable or not? Why select the Abramovich issue when there were several more fully qualified and verified subjects? Keep me posted and perhaps educate rather than castigate me?

Hi Thor and lets shake hands on this and meet half way! Its been a long day I know :) Anyway I can produce Masons evidence but Iam not sure if this would infringe copyright as its not published but in my possession? Maybe I can use the world "rumoured"? Keep me posted anyway and thanks for your help so far.

Taken your advice on Masonry issue. Have a good evening Thor and hope to speak again soon.
