@Hugsyrup:

Hi, Thanks for the feedback on this. However, I am unsure why the governing body of world athletics which has changed name from IAAF to World Athletics and the site which represents the database for all performances for the governing body of UK Athletics ie Power of 10 would not be in fact the most reliable sources of information. Athletes cannot have any direct input to manipulate their own performances or attendances to particular events or any other information. Also they must ratify any performances as detailed to them in each and every individual competition. In many ways they could be considered a secondary source, via athlete performance and then the neutral reporting of results by competition organisers. Unless I have missed the actual point within the few lines of the article which is a problem. eg I did include the phrase new specification javelin as this clarifies that performances are since 1999. Please help. Thanks Bazzer1952 (talk) 12:17, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As an encyclopaedia, what we are looking for is significant coverage in secondary sources: journals, newspapers, published books and so forth. Athletics databases etc are almost always primary sources and are fine as far as they go but, as my note said, I recommend that the article could do with more coverage in reliable sources. It’s just a suggestion - feel free to ignore it if you disagree. Hugsyrup 16:46, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
