I deleted most of the content as a blatant copy paste from various websites. I also have removed and asked for the logo to be deleted. You uploaded it as "own work" yet you do not own it. If the article eventually enters the mainspace, then and only then can the logo be added, but it must be uploaded to Wikipedia with the correct license, and not Wikicommons. All things solved
[edit]In response to your query at my talk page:
I think all is resolved. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:57, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you Anna. Also, I was wondering if my entry under review is still under review? I've made some changes after the original article was denied, but I'm not sure if the new revised entry is under the list for articles pending review. Can you please check if my revised article is currently in queue within the wikipedia system? thanks! Also, just to refresh your memory, the article's name is BiMBA. Tyawang (talk) 14:04, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I looked at it. First, I really still don't know what it is and what it does. Second, there aren't enough references to get it approved. It must pass WP:GNG. Third, it could start as a section within Peking University, and then break away. That way it could be part of the encyclopedia immediately, and attract the attention of others at that article, who may expand it further. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:24, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- BiMBA is essentially a stand-alone Business school originating from the the economic think tank in Peking University CCER, although it is not AS well known internationally, it is still well known enough in china to deserve mention. I would write more in detail, but I was very discouraged after the original article was wiped out. I wanted to start small, and add more content as time goes on because I thought it would be easier to be approved. I do not want to include it as a section within Peking University because it will be confused with the school's original Business school actually owned by the university. I would much rather simply have it mentioned in the Peking University article instead. Further, I do not understand why I am having so much trouble getting this approved by wikipedia, if you would look at the article Ceibs, or China Center for Economic Research there are much less content and references in the introduction, yet they were approved. I am not understanding the standard for approving an article. However, I will continue to work with you until you are satisfied Tyawang (talk) 04:27, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- Update: I've added more references from sources other than our website, including ranking by Forbes magazine and QS Global 200, they should definitely be considered significant sources to pass the WP:GNG. Please take a look. Thank you. Tyawang (talk) 04:57, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
BiMBA continued
[edit]In reply to your message on my Talk page, I would point out that your article says clearly BiMBA is "at Peking University". IMO it's a fair interpretation to take that statement at face value! If BiMBA is not part of Peking University then you need to make that very clear in the opening summary (it is not common to have separate articles on each faculty at a University, which is why I suggested BiMBA was probably not independently notable). The other sources all say clearly the program is at Peking University, supported by Peking University and ratified by Vlerick University. You can understand that any reviewer, with 1500 submissions also waiting in the queue, has to make a reasonably quick judgement based on what it written in front of them.
The only news article you've cited, from Business Week, is only used to support the "An MBA with a heart" quote, and appears at first glance to be mainly images. However, I see there's an intro of reasonable length, so it may tip the balance towards acceptance. Colleges (and secondary schools) are normally assumed to be 'notable' on Wikipedia. If you could clarify the independence of BiBMBA in your article, maybe I'll take another look. Hope that helps! Sionk (talk) 14:01, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your detailed response Sionk. I understand where you are coming from, because I know there's a lot of submissions in queue and you guys have a very limited amount of time to spend one each. I probably should have clarified it more, but I didn't want to go into too much detail emphasizing the independence of BiMBA from Peking University because I didn't think it was necessary to dwindle too long on that. When I wrote at, i mean literally, at PKU. The school's location is within the ground of PKU, and there are a limited amount of ties with the university since we are using its ground. However, BiMBA is not owned by PKU, unlike PKU's other Guanghua School of Management, which is directly owned and operated by the university. BiMBA graduates receive an international MBA degree from Vlerick, hence the lower case i in BiMBA. If you see it necessary, I would love to ask the dean of the school to explain to me in more detail the independence of BiMBA from PKU, down to the specific places where PKU and BiMBA are connected in terms of structure. Although I personally don't think that's relevant for an article about BiMBA, if you think that's what it takes for BiMBA to be created on its own independent from PKU, I will happily listen to your advice. I will ask about the independence and history of BiMBA and include a section in the intro explaining it. Thank you for your time, please look forward to the re-edit.
