Let me be the first to welcome you and commend you on your enthusiasm and ability to follow instructions. The Wikipedia mantra is BE BOLD. For me at least, just making an account took a great deal of courage. The next logical step in your Wikipedia indoctrination is to energize your home page. It will serve as an excellent place to learn some of the basic wiki-codes without dorking up an article. Editing skills will require some experimentation and self teaching. The easiest way to start is to visit others and “steal” some ideas. By that - I mean click the edit tab and see their html codes which you can copy and paste into yours. CAREFUL --- don’t edit their page…. COPY not cut!!!!! You can then adjust it to reflect your own personal style. Feel free to be creative. Try to provide some insight into who you are while still maintaining your Anonymity. Personally I like the community’s use of user boxes to provide some insight into your way of thinking. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Black mamba has been reverted, as it appears to have removed content from the page without explanation. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Black mamba: disambig?

[edit]

Hi Brain Dead! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia; I read about your biology class, and it's great to see you guys getting involved. I noticed that there are a lot of "see also" type links at the top of the black mamba article; when there are more than two different uses for a particular term, the typical solution is to create a disambiguation page. It might be time to create Black mamba (disambiguation). I'm happy to do this myself, but, since you've been working on the black mamba article, I thought you might like to give it a try. You can copy the format of Fool's Gold (disambiguation).

To create the page, all you have to do is click on Black mamba (disambiguation), list the articles which are mentioned above the black mamba article, and save the page. You'll have to do some rewriting when you make your list; for instance, you would change

{{for|the [[Kill Bill]] character|Beatrix Kiddo}} to:

*[[Beatrix Kiddo]], a character in the Kill Bill movies

At the end of the page, you'd write {{disambig}}. Then you could delete all the links above black mamba, and replace them with {{otheruses}}.

Try it! If you have any questions, you can ask them here, and I'll reply here. Good luck! --Fullobeans (talk) 21:41, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
