- Actually, I think if you check out this diff you'll see that the edit you considered vandalism was just a slow attempt to revert vandalism! Good luck, Brainyiscool! Budgiekiller 17:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Are you using pop-ups for reverting vandalism? You have to be quick with it because it just goes back one version which, if more edits have been made since, can result in funny results... like this time...! Budgiekiller 18:02, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- I must admit, I have not used Wikipedia very much before and just a bit ago started trying to revert vandalism with the Recent Changes page. Feel free to post any tips you may have to make sure this won't happen again. - Brainy
- Hi, and welcome again, sorry that you may have encountered an early problem! What happens sometimes is that you will get stacks of rapid vandalism with pages being edited every minute. When using the Recent Changes, it's sometimes worth checking the History of a page to see if you can find the last, good version of the page being vandalised - it may be quite a way back in the history if (usually) an anon IP has attacked it. But don't be put off, I can see that the majority of your edits so far have been excellent. Keep it up, and once more, welcome. Budgiekiller 18:07, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for the Tip. I'll make sure to check that before reverting vandalism.Brainyiscool 18:08, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry Brainy. I must admit that when I went to look at your other contributions (as we do when we spot vandalism) I realised how out of character the swearing was.
- I take back the warning and wish to reaffirm the welcome that I extended.
- Regards
- I recently received a 'message' from Brainyiscool regarding the vandalism on the Darfur Conflict page. I'll have you know I was editing the page to remove the vandalism that appeared in the header as it affected my reading. Please take the time to check the edits made by a user before accusing them of vandalism. (Posted by 128.220.251.228)
- Responded on talk page. My Mistake
My IP talk page
[edit]You had no right to go in and edit my IP address talk page. As you can see... I have a user name and at the time was not using it. I had that warning on my talk page for quite some time and felt it null and void and irrelevant since I was making a point of using my user name more frequently. Please leave that page alone in the future. Thank you

About the John Bosco reverts
[edit]I chose the bot revision because the revision you chose came from an editor who self-reversed his edits. Morenooso 06:06, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ok. I wasn't too worried about it, since both seemed free of vandalism. Brainyiscool 06:07, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's a matter of choosing the best version. Plus, if that anon IP re-edits the article, someone might think it is a good editor based upon looking at the edit summaries and seeing your re-vert to one of its previous edits. Depending on edits to an article, I will review as many edits as I can to see what the history of the article is in choosing the best version. Fortunately, I am familar with this article. I left a message for that the both anonymous IPs as well. Morenooso 06:17, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
