Phoenix Park

Verifiability is a cornerstone of any encyclopaedia and Wikipedia is no exception. These days reliable sources are being encouraged for edits so that less criticism can be leveled against the project questioning its accuracy, so could you please provide such for the information you added to Phoenix Park and anything else that people might question, such as, in the Grand Canal, you wrote: "In 1960 the last cargo boat passed through the Grand Canal." Irish census updates

I see you are updating several Irish town population stats but the link you provided is essentially useless because anyone wishing to follow the citation has to click on the map several time and if they don't know where the town is it will be highly frustrating. For each town there is in fact a link to the main stats page and I have corrected the citation link for Wicklow, Bray and Naas. Would you please copy this template style per WP:CIT with the appropriate url. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 16:42, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Ok, sorry bout that. Think I fixed them all now.

No problem but it is good to see someone being bold and updating to the 2011 stats from the 2006 stats. It's a bit of a task but well worth it in the end to keep up to date. The few I did for you had the description "Legal Town" but some of the later ones you did don't have it, so I would use whatever the census page says. Good job. Copy and Paste pagemoves.

Hiyas there Bulletpimp,

I just noticed that you are changing a fairly large amount of article's related to Irish places, by moving the main article to the Welsh spelling and changing the English title in a redirect. In most cases the English spelling is preferable for the article title - the article on Spain is located at this title, and not at "España".

A more importantly is though is that you are moving the pages by copy-pasting them somewhere else. When you need to move a page you should always use the page move functionality over copy-pasting the page. Copy and paste moves don't move the page history to the new article name which in turn means it is effectively lost. Not only is that impractical but for copyright reasons every editor has to be traceable in the page history (And the only way to fix this later on is by spending oodles of time on history merges. In order to prevent the latter from occurring i reverted the edits you made. I would advice leaving the pages at their anglicized titles, but you could of course discuss this with the relevant wikiproject if you intend to move them around. But if you end up moving them around please do so using the page move functionality instead. Excirial ^{(Contact me,Contribs)} 21:55, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I was moving them to the Irish spelling as theyre the official names even when using English Official Languages Act 2003. What would the relevant wikiproject be if I do decide to discuss it?

Also I see youre point with how I was doing it though, didnt know there was another way
