Quick question

[edit]

Hello. Just a question (as a Motorhead fan) - you added "Adrian Chesterman" as a credit for the cover of their Bomber album. I was just wondering where you got this information from? It doesn't appear to be on the credits on the cover. Always on the look out for new Motorhead info sources, so would appreciate if you could tell me of another! Thanks very much and happy editing! MOTORHEAD "BOMBER" ALBUM COVER

[edit]

Hi Bubba! I'm sorry to have taken so long in responding but I am an infrequent visitor to Wiki and have only just seen your enquiry. I'm very much a stranger in a strange land and am feeling my way round still.

As to my info about Adrian Chesterman I am in the happy position of calling him friend and the happier position of having the original artwork in my possession. Apparently, when shown the original illustration where the band members' heads were in scale with the rest of the bomber, objections were raised that they couldn't be recognised. This led to the out-of-scale heads of the band being added. The illustration hung above Ade's parents' mantlepiece for the best part of thirty years until a move to a flat led to my looking after it. It is for sale, if you're interested (with Ade's sanction). It is bigger than you might think, being 20 inches square rather than the twelve inches of the cover itself. Ade did a number of album covers (I also have the preliminary artwork for Steeleye Span's "Storm Force 10") and many book jacket/cover illustrations. Go to http://www.chestermanart.com to see his work.

Cheers Buster

Thanks, that's very interesting indeed. – B.hotep u/t16:56, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
