Status and Advice[edit]

These consulate articles need improvement or they are unlikely to remain on Wikipedia. A good case can be made that they are notable historically, but it needs better referencing. Every paragraph needs at least one source,; any interpretative comment not in the new source about the events needs a source, otherwise you are engaging win what we call WP:Original Research, which allow expected in a college course, is not wanted here--we instead limit ourselves to summarizing existing sources. The best source for interpretation will be standard published histories of the period, or specialist works if they exist. Fr the events, newspapers are appropriate, but they should be cited more fully--if the individual article has an author, give it, and if there is an electronic version, give it as well as the print.

Wikipedia is hypertext, and we cross link to significant other articles, once per article, such as other cities or famous people See also how we format subheadings. -- the best place to learn is Wikipedia:Tutorial/Editing/.Most important, be absolute certain that nothing you write is copied from a source published elsewhere, If so, it must be entirely rewritten. I have a feeling this may originally be a term paper of some sort--if you wrote it yourself, that's acceptable, but it still needs to match our style.

If you need any help, please feel free ti ask me. DGG ( talk ) 15:40, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
