Velomagg
[edit]Thanks for adding some sources; I will try to take some time later to integrate the sources into the text and expand the article.
I lived in Montpellier for a few months in 2007 (before Velomagg was created, I assume) and I found it a bad place for biking...compared to cities in Germany, there weren't many bike lanes or good places for bikes, and I always had to fight with cars. It will be interesting to see if things there improve when there are more bikers! rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:22, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi rʨanaɢ, thanks for your help. I lived for 1½ year in Berlin and yes, German cities are way more bicycle friendly than French cities. I would say, in a European context, that further North, people know how to behave while driving and riding, or even just walking :-) But yes, the Vélomagg' project did improve the perception of bicycles by all shareholders. Even if Rome was not built in a day! There are still many more improvements like that to make before you can call Montpellier bicycle friendly.
- I created a page on the firm behind Vélomagg'. It happens that my brother is the head of this firm, so I understand there is a high probability of Conflict of Interest. As soon as I created the page, User_talk:Tnxman307 erased it and advised me to first do a sandox version. Which I did: User:Christian.Mercat/Sandbox. Now I am waiting for approval from Tnxman to move it back to the main wiki. Is it the correct way to do?
- Another question: Is it possible to create a link Vélomagg to Vélomagg' (mind the '!!)? Christian.Mercat (talk) 17:14, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Very nice work. --C S (talk) 03:55, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you C S. I was once thrown away from Conformal map and had to retreat to Conformal pictures because I was too pictural to be serious :-) And I was half expecting to have a too tutorial stance and not encyclopedic enough; but in that subject of knots and graph, I realize that most mathematicians simply don't grow from understanding the 1:1 correspondence between links and planar graphs, towards actually doing anything about it and being able to draw nice knots, unless you take them by the hand and explain to them like they are 6 years old. It works well with 6 years old by the way ;-) I've put up some tutorial material over the 15 years I'm into knots in order to explain that to any kind of people, that's great fun!

possible translation into English
[edit]Hi, I translated the article `you have cited in Arabic from the Italian wiki http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intreccio, art and techniques of Arabic straw , can be summarized under the name of arabesque, which in English wiki is a rather extensive article. some of the techniques to reproduce shapes Arabesque I tried it too, by using digital techniques, see here: http://hasanisawi.altervista.org/arabesco.htm. and this is just graphics. the most interesting part of the argument in question are the real techniques used by Muslims craftsmen , for this we must look in original-language texts that describe in detail such techniques --Hasanisawi (talk) 06:57, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 19
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of bicycle sharing systems, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SMTC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
