Could you explain, please...

[edit]

Your recent contributions show that you have just made a lot of edits, either as an IP or when logged on, adding KC*HS and other abbreviations to articles to bishops and other religious folk. I'm not familiar with these abbreviation, nor could I see any citation which justifies them. Please could you explain these, as initially I assumed this was some sort of vandalism. If it isn't, please ensure you include a wikilink and a citation to justify each of them, please. Failing that (and in my ignorance) I might have felt obligated to revert them all.

Please would you also ensure that when you add statements like this that you add a citation so it can be verified, or someone may simply remove it as 'uncited'. I'm looking forward to being educated on these matters! Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 20:38, 26 May 2020 (UTC)  [reply]

@Nick Moyes: (apologies for the talk page stalking) I think KC*HS denotes a Knight Commander with Star of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Although this information is indeed sourced in the last section of J. Michael Miller‎ and Richard Gagnon (two articles on my watchlist that had KC*HS added to them), I am of the opinion that this is a rather trivial post-nominal to include (unlike a religious order or a civic honour). —Bloom6132 (talk) 07:43, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Some of your recent genre changes have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. The insertion of post-nominals without any edit summary is an issue. What order uses these letters and do you have references for the use of said letters in reference to the individuals you added them for? ~ Pbritti (talk) 23:28, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
