Australian place names
[edit]Hi - I noticed your edits to Bega Valley. Australian place names are automatically disambiguated as they are so often also names of places elesewhere. This applies even when we are quite confident the place name is unique. The only exceptions are capital cities, eg Sydney. So for example the link is to Bega, New South Wales and if you just want to show Bega then you use a pipe: " | " as per [[Bega, New South Wales|Bega]] to display as Bega. Hope this makes sense. Saccostrea cucullata
[edit]In answer to your query, it's the coral rock oyster, milky oyster, or hooded rock oyster, a tropical species. It seems to have been introduced from elsewhere in the Indo-Pacific (another name listed is the Bombay oyster [1]) rather than being endemic to Australia. It's harvested in north Queensland, according to a Marine Fisheries Review article. The only actual farming would be experimental. Volume of production seems rather minuscule. re: Merimbula
[edit]A question, not a criticism, Wineguy why did you revert the changes made to the Merimbula, NSW, Australia page. Most were pretty good! --como006
Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, real life has been a bit crazy the past couple weeks. I had a look and it seems I may have made a mistake while doing RC patrol. It looks like there was quite a bit of vandalism to Australia related articles from anon IPs that night, and I accidentally rolled back a legit edit. (Although, the bit about the best chinese restaurant in town may have caught my eye!?) Anyway, it looks like the good info has been restored. Thanks for pointing it out. --Wine Guy Talk 18:22, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Footy Club
[edit]Hi, I am trying to introduce a club for rugby league supporters that will be more than just a wikiproject and help to encourage rugby league participation and article improvement. I have written down some of my thoughts about what wikileaguies should attempt to do and would be interested if you, like other rugby league supporters, would be willing to be involved on some level. [3], leave signage and thoughts on the talk page if you are interested. Furthermore you may be interested in Como Jannali Rugby League Football Club Cheers. --Rugby 666 08:19, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Merimbula-aerial.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Merimbula-aerial.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Killiondude (talk) 23:25, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

The file File:Merimbula's Mitchies Jetty.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
