Silva Comprehensive Ribosomal RNA Database

Thanks for the note from your bot, it made the article much better. I did not know if you can flag the particular section on my talk page to know if I answered you there. Or if you just wait to let the bot look at the page again and see if it passes the filter? I am really curious, as I am relatively new to Wikipedia, and trying to find out how things work. I would like to write a bot like this sometimes, but I have no idea where to begin. Is the bot running continuously on all new pages? What about old pages that get added to? Pretty cool!

I substantially rewrote the copied material to simplify and generalize it. I think is much better. I was trying to take a short cut, and the bot reminded me to be more careful. Thanks. Can you check it again? It is hard to tell the basic information more simply. The groups that work together are organized in a specific manner. The features of the software and data system need to be known for people to evaluate the impact of the databases on the community of researchers. The basic citations are in standard form, and I am complying with their recommendations for how to cite the basic literature on the databases. Not much more to change.RC711 (talk) 12:36, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

False positive

I'm looking at Cassie McFarland which is flagged due to the resemblance to a Wikibib page. Does Wikibin need to be added to the list of known mirrors?--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:13, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Also fact-index e.g. Spruce Budworm which matches Choristoneura freemani--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:22, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Seems like it does. It's there if you want to do it, otherwise I'll have a few to do it this evening. — Coren (talk) 14:24, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
I added both to the exclusion list. — Coren (talk) 14:08, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

CorenSearchBot

The bot is incorrectly comparing new content from Main to the Template Namespace.

When a template is first substituted it will be always similar to the original until it can be completed, right?

Thanks for taking care of this. Chjohnson39 (talk) 13:52, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

You should have added readtiger.com to the list of wiki mirrors after my message on June 9, when your bot had tagged 168th New York State Legislature. Well, it's never too late... Kraxler (talk) 19:42, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Can you use {{Laq}}?

Hi, Coren. :) Our footers at WP:CP have been dead for a long time. User:Rich Farmbrough just gave us a workaround, but he says it's only temporary - we are trying to squeeze too many templates into once place, it seems. One of his recommended fixes is if Corensearchbot switches from {{La}} to {{Laq}}, which he just created. Is this possible? Otherwise, he says we could also trim down {{La}}. It would be lovely to be able to see all the listings on WP:CP, so I'm crossing my fingers! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:55, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Putting this back in active play. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:56, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

http://hausmieten.potiori.com/ is a partial mirror of Wikipedia

Could you http://hausmieten.potiori.com/ to the list of partial mirrors of Wikipedia, so that Wikipedia articles that match ones in http://hausmieten.potiori.com/ are not flagged as copyvios? Multiregional TransitTelecom was deleted because a Duplication Detector report showed that it was similar to http://hausmieten.potiori.com/Interregional_TransitTelekom.html I created a new stub version of Multiregional TransitTelecom, and then discovered that http://hausmieten.potiori.com/Interregional_TransitTelekom.html had been updated to reflect my new version. I'm sorry, I can't seem to verify that this is a mirror at all; it looks like a search engine to me, but it always returns blank result pages. — Coren (talk) 02:30, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

I have only one account

Hi Coren, This is to follow-up regarding another administrator's accusations regarding my account. I'm not sure exactly what has been done wrong here. We have several computers, and any number of people who use them at any time. Why not update your system to that which is more sophisticated so this type of thing doesn't happen? We went through this same stuff with Amazon last year. Thanks, Daniellagreen (talk) (cont) 02:07, 29 June 2014 (UTC

I'm afraid that fits in the same category as "my little brother did it"; if you have a colleague/flatmate/family member who registers to give you visible support, it's not possible to distinguish this from you – and it appears even more illicit when that account seems to have been created specifically for that purpose.

The only advice I can give you is for you to instruct the people who share computers with you to avoid interacting on-wiki in any form because that gives the strong impression that it is a single individual attempting to give appearance of support. — Coren (talk) 02:19, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

Coren, A family member was trying to show support for me. I've already addressed the situation, and have been assured that the account will no longer be used. Thanks, Daniellagreen (talk) (cont) 04:14, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
