Image copyright problem with File:Nickschenk.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nickschenk.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 22:11, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

References, External links, and Formatting[edit]

Please review the changes that I made to Nick Schenk regarding references and formatting.

SEE:

Wikipedia:Citing sources

Please give credit to authors and publications in references and external links.

Also;

"External links" should be directly about the subject, i.e.: www.ford.com for Ford Motor Company or www.ford.com/mustang for the Ford Mustang. The website or the webpage should be wholly devoted to the main subject of the article. All other links should be used as references.

Your article submission Submissions/Optevi[edit]

Hello Corpania. It has now been over a year since you last edited your article submission, entitled Submissions/Optevi.

If you no longer want this submission, it will shortly be deleted. However, if you wish to keep it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Submissions/Optevi}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will place the undeleted submission in your user space.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. j⚛e deckertalk 17:35, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Blockfolio[edit]

Hello Corpania,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Blockfolio for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:43, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Kudpung, just leaving a note there now (in the hopes of getting the article back to edit & improve)... thank you... idfubar (talk) 06:11, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Hi, thanks for message. If you post an article it will be assessed as it stands. If you don't want that to happen, you should write it as a draft. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. Most of your links were to sites where the text appears to have been written by the vendors, or were otherwise not independent third-party sources. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls or external links. Put your references in the the text following the fact each supports using <ref>[url description]</ref>. Then {{reflist}} at the end will automatically generate a numbered list.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Your article appears to consist largely of positive reviews of the app, but we need facts rather than cherry-picked opinions. There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections. That's particularly the case when they are links to affiliated sites.

You said it deserves a wikipedia page; nothing "deserves" a page. A topic may get a page if it meets our criteria. If you have a conflict of interest when editing this article, you must declare it.

If you want to try again, I'll post the deleted text to a user subpage for you to work on, probably with some prior editing by me. Let me know if you wish to proceed, but first

  1. Read Your first article
  2. Make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources.
  3. Reply to the COI request above

I now see that you have been asking other admins to overturn my decision before you have asked me what I am prepared to do. That does not come across as good faith editing. There are other routes to query a deletion, but you should always talk to the person who has taken the action first Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:23, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Jimfbleak; Lourdes replied that you were the person to ask... but the comment after that (from Cullen328) - and the written process - suggested any given editor could provide a copy of deleted text (towards the ends of being able to work on it straight away); when Lourdes did not reply to the question of the same the suspicions of editors, in arguing exercise of authority, flowed forth (yielding the illusion of an appeal to their sense of reason). In short, in attempting to help Corpania a bad impression was yielded regarding his intentions (per your post); it is my fault & you are owed due apology (sincerely, "sorry"). > = | idfubar (talk) 10:59, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I also see from the edits on the help page that you are involved with this topic. If you work directly or indirectly for the organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Corpania. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Corpania|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Corpania, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:58, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
To clarify the above, your user name appears to match that of a commercial company, which is not permitted. I can't see any connection yet between the company and the app, so I'm allowing you to create a new account with a permitted name, rather than blocking you outright Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:06, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The file File:Nickschenk.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
