Notability of Piero Ornelas

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Piero Ornelas, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Plasticup T/C 18:04, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"It seemed my own reporting wasn't good enough for Wikipedia".

It's not that; it's the precedent it would set. Think about it that way. DS 00:42, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell me what would work then. I am a little hesitant to submit my other articles on Bay area Music.

Can you suggest?

thanks

Thanks, and if you have any questions, please ask them on my user talk page. To do this, click on my name (just after this sentence) and click discussion at the top and then the (+) button at the top.

The reason listed for the deletion of the Piero Ornelas article was WP:CSD#A7 which states "Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. If controversial, or if there has been a previous deletion discussion that resulted in the article being kept, list the article at Articles for deletion instead." this guildline may help you WP:MUSIC concerning the creation of music related articles, if you believe the article was deleted in error you can goto Wikipedia:Deletion review, again welcome to wikipedia and happy editing!▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 07:02, 21 August 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Oh. Ok. I see. it's all abut how much money they made, or how many units they sold. I see. I believe this makes wikipedia little more than an engine for corporate media. I see 40 people on that list of less "remarkable" status. This person, Piero Ornelas, (the first of several I intended to write about people who have deeply affected Berkeley culture and arts not only on a financial, but also artistic and political level) Has changed berkeley.

This site, and it's users appear to be involved in a very selective sham.

Good luck. if this is what constitutes realism in Encyclopedic knowledge, then heaven help us all.
