A tag has been placed on User:Credomoft/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Help me![edit]

Hi, My fist page has been nominated for Speedy Deletion so I need to find out why please? I need to create an open source page that documents the history of Abermule Business Park in Powys Wales. The site has been subject to long and lengthy planning debate and recently moved from a site for Prestigeous Business Development to Industrial use. The site is in a rural location and ecologically sensitive. Funding has been switching between the local authority and the Welsh Assembly and the European Economic Union in a very complicated in involved so Wiki seemed an obvious way to link all the relevant documents on line in a way that anyone can easily find material they need and have a broad access to the time-line. Please help me with... Understanding why my page is marked for speedy deletion and the criteria I need to meet to get the page accepted. Is it just that I haven't linked any URL's yet? This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Credomoft (talk) 08:00, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Because its in sandbox and I have not completed or attributed any comments as yet. Its not been published yet so I need to understand what the problem is. I'm new to Wiki and happy to do whatever edits are needed to make the page acceptable. I'm not sure if I'm writing this to be received by a person or a bot?[reply]

@Credomoft: welcome to Wikipedia! And what a welcome it is. Stand firm, Men of Harlech-! but the problem with this page is that, although it is in your user space, that's not a catch-all place for writing anything you want: see this page for detailed advice. At the moment, however, it is hard to see the—pardon me—encyclopedic value of the page. It mostly seems to be a damming indictment of the corruption, greed and hypocrisy so prevalent in UK local government and administration today, etc. This seems to be very much a page attempting to "right great wrongs" as we say around here; but unfortunately Wikipedia isn't a soapbox to launch campaigns with. Now; none of days to say that the subject couldn't be ever be encyclopedic: but everything would have to be verifiable to reliable sources independent of the figures involved. It would also have to be written from an absolutely neutral point of view; I rather think that, with the best will in the world, you'll agree it's not quite reaching the criteria yet! Writing any Wikipedia article is tricky, I tell ye, but the first one is hardest of all! Have a loook also at WP:Your first article for a summary and some handy tips. Take care! ——SerialNumber54129 10:13, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the above. That was not an encyclopedia article and could not conceivably be turned into one without rewriting it all from scratch. Wikipedia is not a free webhost, and attempts to use it as such can be speedily deleted, as happened here. There may even have been some issues regarding our policy on biographies of living persons, too. Huon (talk) 17:13, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
