Whomever deleted this article did not stop to question as to whether a) I (the writer of the article) was the copyright holder (which I am.) b) Whether I am the holder of the domain name being cited. c) I own all of my grandfather's (Youldon Chauncey Howell) paintings and work, and the worldwide rights to his name, likeness, and all other rights.

Please, from now on, check your sources before deleting an article, it's hard enough for me to use this antiquated system of posting. Also, if you can see your way clear, please repost the article. My granfather was an amazing man with a long public career of teaching people, and teachers how to make their world a more beautiful place. Thank you in advance. Chris Costilow (ctcost: For a whois check on the domain being cited).

PS: the article for the Edan Hughes book was in MY own words, and, was used by Mr. Hughes with my permission. Ctcost (talk) 00:38, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, check WP:COPYRIGHT to see what you can do to make it explicitly known to Wikipedians that you are the copyright owner, although it is always better to write in your own neutral words. Also, check WP:COI to see if you should really create a page on your granfather. By calling him "an amazing man", you may be negatively expressing your intentions here. This article falls within the guidelines. Nothing was borrowed, stolen or in any way infringed upon as I own it all. The words are my original words. The quoted website is my own website. As a work in progress, the article has many more additions to come, and certainly my grandfather falls into every category necessary for inclusion. My use of the term "amazing man" in this plea does not in any way detract from the article; I have to take exception there as many news articles from the time and thousands of people will attest. Again I will make a plea that you put back the article, as a stub if you wish, with alot more forthcoming.

Thanks in advance

If you can please give the direct link to email the OTRS response team and give specific permission to use parts of their site. Legally though, I will tell you under present law, If I post something from any copyright I hold, and mention that I am allowing you to use what I post, under the Digital Millenium Copyright laws, all of this conversation can be used in any court in the land as long as it has my ip and time attached...Seems a much easier way to go about this whole thing...Just FYI. I'm afraid I cannot restore the article, since I'm not an administrator. You should speak with Orangemike, the one that deleted the page under my request. If you are going to use your own words, you won't need to e-mail anything to anyone. Also, you may want to work on your article in this page first: User:Ctcost/Youldon Chauncey Howell. The page is in your userspace, which means nobody is going to delete it as you edit it. Victão Lopes I hear you... 19:03, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Youldon Chauncey Howell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
