Template
[edit]Hi DPMaster, welcome to Wikipedia. I removed the links to the two articles you recently added to Template:Paraphilia as they're more sexual practices than paraphilias or fetishes. This makes me think though that it might be a good idea to make a separate template (similar to the Paraphilia one) for BDSM practices. I'll work on starting one and I'll let you know what I come up with. Cheers. Robotman1974 19:23, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi again, I've made that template at Template:BDSM and included it in a couple of articles. Feel free to edit it as you like. Robotman1974 20:39, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, the only change I made to Tit torture was to add that BDSM template. The change I made to the Paraphilia template was to remove 3 links to articles that have now been merged into another article. I also removed [[Tit torture from that template, as stated above. All these edits and links can be confusing at first, but hang in there. You'll get used to it soon enough. Happy editing. Robotman1974 23:39, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Tit tourture
[edit]Hi DPMaster, sorry to hear about your problems. I think its unlikely that Wikipedia links are causing the problem. All links from Wikipedia to external site have rel=NOFOLLOW set on them automatically. This means that any PageRank effects from the Wikipedia article isn't taken into account by Google. Wikipedia articles tend to appear higher in Google's listings, so it could leapfrog above your site, but the most I would expect to see is the Wikipedia article at #1 and your site at #2. If that's the case it doesn't seem like a huge problem. If you've dropped lower than that, its I believe unlikely to be the Wikipedia article alone.
I'm afraid we wouldn't delete a Wikipedia article or alter it for the financial interest of a commercial site. That would not be in the interests of maintaining a neutral encyclopedia. However I don't think Wikipedia is to blame here anyway. Best, Gwernol 00:36, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm afraid you are right. All text you add to Wikipedia is irrevocably licensed under GFDL. This means you have no more (or less) right to it than anyone else. Anyone can modify, copy or otherwise o what they want with it - even sell it to people. While its on Wikipedia, other editors are going to protect it from undue influence, as they should. Sorry, Gwernol 00:54, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, DPMaster. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Darker Pleasures, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. noq (talk) 09:06, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
