Your edits to "Rock Lobster"
I do not see how a use on a single scene in a single episode of Family Guy has relevance to the song's article, especially considering that the song has been used in so many other contexts. I have not seen any sort of verification for this either, which is required. --DJH47 (talk) 20:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Vanboto
You're biting a new editor, arguing on his talk page after leaving an insulting message. That stops. Dreadstar † 00:49, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- The most recent edit wasn't insulting. After the intervention of the admin I calmed down. Daedalus969 (talk) 01:17, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree. Telling someone to "stop the insults" after you've insulted them and they've made no further edits is pretty insulting. There was no need for your further comment after two administrators had intervened in the situation. Dreadstar † 01:50, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- You mean when I said it wasn't some game? Otherwise, it was him that has been. Daedalus969 (talk) 02:06, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- When you said
- "Ok, first, stop with the stupid D&D referenecs...not some stupid game. The fact that you are already judging people just because of a family guy reference states right away that you aren't admin material. You are the troll here, not us...Come back when you have an agruement that doesn't end in game terms."
- Then you follow it up by telling him to stop the insults. That's insulting. Dreadstar † 04:34, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I requested that Thingg make some changes to the existing Xbox Live userbox (it now automagically links to your profile at mygamercard.net), so I took the liberty of editing your userpage to fix the userbox. Hope that's ok. xenocidic (talk) 17:42, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

February 2008
Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! Jmlk17 10:29, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Vandalism
You left this comment [1] on my page without indicating what edit(s) you are referring to. Please elaborate, as I am not a vandal in any way, shape, or sort that I can imagine. If I disagreed with you on an edit, that's not vandalism.
For future reference, I don't respond well to threats, so if you feel I have vandalized anything, please just report me to WP:AIV. Thanks. Snowfire51 (talk) 05:36, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, you were after the water dude. No problems, I willfully retract my misplaced righteous indignation, then. Forget I mentioned it. I didn't even bother to respond to him, I figured it would have caught up with him by the time I posted a message.
- No hard feelings, great work you're doing knocking out vandals, by the way. Thanks! Snowfire51 (talk) 06:14, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Weird
That's twice now that someone has left a message on my talk page that was intended for you. Weird, eh? I feel like I've got your old phone number or something. If anything else comes my way, I'll forward them to you. Snowfire51 (talk) 06:34, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Friend box
Just noticed the friends with box on your page. While I appreciate the sentiment, I would rather that the box be used only for expressing real-life relationships. Neither of us has any idea who the other is, and I don't feel we've been conversing long enough to be considered "friends", even if conversation is the only element to a friendship. I'll be adding a note to that effect on the template's page momentarily; meanwhile, I'd be much obliged if you would remove the box with my name in it, at least for now. Thanks! I don't really know why you posted on my talk page. I haven't added any forum links to that article, I've been one of the people removing forum links. I re-added one link to a review today that was removed for no reason. BTW, your link to leave a message at the top of this page leads to Snowfire51's page, that's why people are ending up over there. Yeah, I've attracted another sockpuppet/troll. Thanks for the help, amigo. You know how it gets when you're trying to keep the vandals away. Thanks! Snowfire51 (talk) 06:39, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Response
Man, that was a while back, I only remember it vaguely and don't have time to look it up. I just meant that as an editor, you seem to be a legitimate service to wikipedia. It wasn't sarcasm, of course you have your flaws (we all do) but it seemed like the other user was a troll and you were a legit guy, and I wanted to make that clear.
We always have to assume good faith, but you and I both know there's plenty of vandals and IP threats just here to mess things up and undo everyone else's hard work. I know you're not that way (and I hope you know the same about me), so even though we clash on things (like Rock Lobster), and we both could probably use more patience with vandals and WP:3RR violations, we both have the best interests of the wiki at heart.
Just knowing you and your edits, I know you're a service to the wiki so I'll back you up on some things. You seem to be watching my page, and I'm doing the same for yours to keep away the vandals.
That's all. Take care, and happy editing! Snowfire51 (talk) 07:02, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
indiamond/IUPUI University Library
Wow, who knew one librarian and one student could cause such a ruckus. Hopefully all of this has been resolved and we're "ok" to move forward. All of the links we are adding are from Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI's) Digital Collection of primary resource material. Not advertisements, not editorials. Surely other libraries and universities are doing the same sorts of postings.
I know now to keep a better eye on my talk page. Thank you all for the enlightening experience. Klpalmer (talk) 14:11, 26 February 2008 (UTC)KL Palmer
Tildes
Cause I'm bored and just noticed this but, in the orange box at the top of your page it mentions signing off with the 4 tildes and points people to the uper left of their keyboard. Just thought I'd mention that for some people/keyboards the tilde is located near the "return" or "enter" key just above the #. :o) Jasynnash2 (talk) 15:49, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Re: Help
Re your message: The appropriate message would be Uw-3rr. Since you appear to have a lack of consensus on whether to include the reference or not, I recommend that you place a Requests for comment on the talk page. RFCmedia would be the appropriate one. Perhaps with more input by additional editors, a consensus will be reached. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:39, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: Sorry, I kind of jumbled my thoughts all together. I left a 3RR warning on the editor's page.
- My RfC suggestion was separate from the addition of the material. The discussion seemed to be a bit bogged down. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:48, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

- The only reason I bother responding, is because I am having trouble not laughing. Vanboto was a troll, and if you actually payed attention, he was blocked for trolling, vandalizing, and harrassment. As said, your arguement holds no water. And now you have been blocked, so we don't have to worry about you anymore. Daedalus (talk) 20:42, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: 205.189.25.*
Re your message: Yes, that's the next step. I'd prefer not do the block now since the vandalism has stopped, but past history shows that he will be back and a rangeblock will go in should I be around when he returns. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 08:32, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- About your question on the range block, nothing was placed that I'm aware of. He has a habit of taking a break for awhile and then coming back. So him appearing to stop is nothing unusual. /20 is a bit large. A narrower range would probably suffice if one were done. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Argument, not arguement.
Hi Daedalus969:
Quoting your note "I'm only bothering to discuss this with you because you can't spell, and your claims don't have that much of an arguement to them."
A comment about another editor's spelling is undermined when you have a spelling mistake in the same sentence.
Argument, not arguement.
I thought maybe you would want to know.

The greening of wikipedia
Nice sig! Redrocket (talk) 21:14, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
RE:Your Signature
The code for your sig looks like this:
— <font color="green"><b>Dædαlus</b></font> <small><small>T@lk</small></small><big><b>\</b></big>[mailto:Daedalus969@gmail.com →]quick link
while it should look like this:
— <font color="Green">Dædαlus</font> <small><small>T@lk</small></small><big>\</big>[mailto:Daedalus969@gmail.com →]quick link
Notice that the first thing wrong was the <b></b> tags need to be outside of the <font></font> tags. I also replaced the <b></b> tags with the standard wiki formatting of Bold. Now it will look like — Dædαlus T@lk\→quick link. Hope this helps! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ♦ contribs) 17:24, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Testing.— Dædαlus T@lk\→quick link 21:07, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, it looks good, glad I could help! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ♦ contribs) 21:09, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: Gonzo already helped you out, but you can shorten the length of the sig a little by cutting out one pair of the small tags as two smalls does not make smaller. So you could shorten to:
<font color="green">Dædαlus</font> <small>T@lk</small><big>\</big>[mailto:Daedalus969@gmail.com →]quick link
- You end up with this: Dædαlus T@lk\→quick link
- If, for some reason you want to go all with CSS, you could also write your signature this way:
<span style="font-weight: bold; color: green">Dædαlus</span> <span style="font-size: x-small;">T@lk</span><span style="font-size: large;">\</span><span style="vertical-align: super; font-size: x-small;">[mailto:Daedalus969@gmail.com →]quick link</span>
- You end up with this: Dædαlus T@lk\→quick link
- Up to you with whichever way you go. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:14, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: Mumble. True. Never mind. One of those weird inconsistences of HTML. Multiple small tags shouldn't matter, but okay, whatever. =) If you decide to use the CSS method, you could use "xx-small". -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 02:41, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, wait a moment, it looks the same to me. I think I might know why. Are you using Firefox, IE, or some other browser? -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 02:59, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: That's one of the browsers I don't have ready access to. Anyways, I thought a little more about it and Firefox doesn't make double small tagged text smaller, which is why I thought it looked the same. I started to experiment and made a pile of signatures in my sandbox. You're welcome to select whichever works best for you and then I'll rake the sandbox. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:41, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: No problem. See you around! =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Re your message: I suspect that the problem is that you are running up against the maximum length of a signature. You can only have up to 255 characters. Your previous signature was 244 characters and when you added your review link, you went to 308 characters. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 03:26, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
