Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Davisllp) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Davis LLP. Thank you. --Drm310 (talk) 16:55, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of what username you choose. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.  7  01:19, 18 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Hi there. I work at Davis LLP and have inherited this account which was set up by a former employee. The account is currently blocked and we cannot edit the associated page. Could you let me know what we can do now to fix the page? Can the block be temporarily lifted so we can edit the description in a way that adheres to your policies and submit for review? Thanks.

Hi, Davisllp. Because only one person is to ever use a single Wikipedia account, please register a new account for yourself. Then, noting your conflict of interest, propose changes to the article talk page. Thanks, Lixxx235Got a complaint? 22:01, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You should also take a look at the Terms of Use, especially the part about paid editing. Huon (talk) 23:06, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks. Is there a way for us to request for the current article to be deleted? Davisllp (talk) 23:13, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have proposed the article for deletion, not because you requested it (that alone would not be a valid rationale), but because it did not indicate that the law firm is notable enough for an article and because it cites no reliable sources. If no one objects, it will be deleted after seven days. Huon (talk) 00:08, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
