Welcome![edit]

Hello, Dialabedsa, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Dialabedsa, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Again, welcome! — rsjaffe 🗣️ 13:44, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Dialabedsa, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 13:44, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

June 2022[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:53, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock reasonDialabedsa (talk) 10:02, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[edit]

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

We thought that the User page was a “sandbox” and we could work on draft articles here. It was not our intention to promote our business without proper review and meeting guidelines. We are a credible business which is over 25 years old and is well known in South Africa. We would fully comply with Wikipedia and will not make use of the user page inappropriately again. After the unblocking of our account, we would like to submit an article which will be reviewed by Wikipedia and other users, which will prove our business credibility and which we fully understand will be accepted or rejected based on whether we followed the correct rules and guidelines of Wikipedia. It was our intention to take what was written on the user page, make final edits and then post this in the article wizard(as once again, we thought the user page was used for draft articles and not to promote our business without review). We will not make this mistake again and will abide by Wikipedia’s rules and guidelines. We will not receive any compensation and are not interested in any compensation for any contributions made on Wikipedia by us. We apologize greatly for this error; we only created this account yesterday and are still very unaware of the Wikipedia interface and still figuring out what goes where. Decline reason:

There are several issues here.
  • You edited your user page, which is not article space or space to draft an article, but a place to tell about yourself as a Wikipedia editor or user. New users cannot directly create articles and must use WP:AFC. You do have a personal sandbox associated with your account, but it is not your user page.
  • Accounts are strictly for single person use only, and may not be that of a company or organization. Only a single person should have access to and be operating this account. You will need to designate a single person to exclusively operate this account.
  • Your username must reflect that this account is used by a single person(though your real name is not required). You will need to propose a new, acceptable username.
  • You seem to have a common misunderstanding as to what Wikipedia is- it is not a business directory where mere existence merits inclusion. Wikipedia is an encyclpedia with criteria for inclusion, called notability. For companies, that is written at WP:ORG.
  • Articles are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the subject in any way(including being hired to do so)
  • You have violated the conflict of interest and paid editing policies. If you work for the company, you are a paid editor, you do not have to be specifically paid or instructed to edit. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company. If this is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a general contributor and edit about topics unrelated to your conflict of interest, like Joe Biden or the President of South Africa or the history of your country, please tell what topics you might edit about. Once you demonstrate through your edits that you understand Wikipedia content guidelines, you may later be permitted to indirectly contribute about your company if it is notable, but not now. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 11:56, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
