How to revert

[edit]

Wikipedia:Revert probably has instructions. They was you do it:

  • Go the the history
  • Click on the date of the version you want to revert to
  • This will bring up the old version of the article, click "edit this page"
  • Put in a useful edit summary and hit "Save page"

It is probably a good idea to discuss your reasons for reversion on the article talk page, in case the editor is curious.

If you have any questions or would like me to do the reversion for you, I'm happy to help, just ask.--Commander Keane 06:14, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Andrea_arnold_oscar2005.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Lenny Bruce

[edit]

As you seem to be one of the more dedicated editors of Lenny Bruce, I'm writing to let you know that I've nominated the article for good article status. I'm not sure if you're interested, but I think featured status is a possibility, but (1) the article needs to have inline citations for that (specific sourcing of individual parts of the text), and (2) it needs an editor familiar with the subject to fight for its candidacy. If you're interested, I can answer questions, but I don't know much about Lenny Bruce so I'd have a hard time helping the article improve. Mangojuicetalk 12:56, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Bill Hicks, Arizona Bay cover.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bill Hicks, Arizona Bay cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Zombies.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Zombies.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 21:28, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Rebecca Gethings 07.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rebecca Gethings 07.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:40, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Bill Hicks, 'Tool' album cover - 'another dead hero'.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Bill Hicks, 'Tool' album cover - 'another dead hero'.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 20:31, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Bill Hicks image.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bill Hicks image.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
