Welcome

[edit]

Hello Diseaseit and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to Family Front, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a Help desk, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! for your edit to Huntington's disease. I would recommend an wp:edit summary that you "corrected the English variant to American English". At the top of the page is a {{Use American English}}, so "characterized" is correct. If it were most other variants, wikt:characterised might be the correct spelling for EngvarB. You might see {{use New Zealand English}} or {{EngvarB}}. It's also based on what the subject matter is. Alan Turing: British, Roy Rogers: American, Helen Ready: Australian. Often, one will need to make an educated guess. The country of origin of the editor who created the article will otherwise get dibs. Honda Accord: Australian! See wp:ENGVAR for policy and more details.
BTW: wikt:presymptomatic is generally correct. If you wish to look at the Wiktionary definition of a word, just type "wikt:word" into the Wikipedia search bar. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 07:29, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Need for Speed

[edit]

I reverted your edit as it seems the company calls the feature Autolog, rather than Auto-log. - Ttwaring (talk) 13:54, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also I noticed that on edits like Sungkyunkwan University you are removing a non-breaking space before the unit - e.g. changing 45-nbsp-km to 45km. MOS:UNITNAMES recommends that the non-breaking space should be there: "Use a non-breaking space ... between a number and a unit symbol, or use nowrap" - Ttwaring (talk) 17:11, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Care with quotations

[edit]

You are correct that "allegations from press" should have been "allegations from the press" when CureVac sent their tweet. However, the article is directly quoting what they said, and you shouldn't copy edit it. - Ttwaring (talk) 12:51, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I will be careful next time Diseaseit (talk) 12:53, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Abbreviations

[edit]

I partly reverted your edit to Christian van Nieuwerburgh. There are three occurrences of "PhD" in the main text, and you changed one of them to "Ph.D.". For consistency, if you are doing corrections across a range of articles you should probably check at MOS:ABBR, so you're not accidentally reverting a manual of style suggestion.

Thanks for adding references and correcting spelling mistakes in lots of articles. - Ttwaring (talk) 23:28, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Diabetes management. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 07:36, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
