Olympic games in myth

[edit]

A thought: if you reframe this as "athletic competitions in epic" it would fit the class better. We've already seen more than one example, and there will be additional ones later! Dakrasne (talk) 00:32, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I posted my peer review to the talk page of your sandbox since the actual article you are working on does not a page on wikipedia yet. VJKTK5 (talk) 20:34, 9 April 2016 (UTC)VJKTK5[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Athletics in Epic Poetry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of Athletics in Epic Poetry

[edit]

Hello Dmgq6b,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Athletics in Epic Poetry for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 20:07, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

While you’re editing …

[edit]

Hello, Dmgq6b! While you’re making substantial changes to an article (new or existing) you can put an {{Under construction}} notice at the top to advise others that it’s being worked on, in case they don‘t check the Talk page. There’s also {{In use}}, to display during an editing session, but it shouldn’t be left there for more than a couple of hours at a time. (Click the links for documentation & previews.) FWIW that anonymous editor’s blanking of the page was out of process, and I think you were quite right to revert.—Odysseus1479 05:52, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on article

[edit]
  • Try to find somewhere to link TO your article from. There should be plenty of places to do so, but you don't want the poor thing to be an orphan! :)
  • See if you can address Virginia's peer review comments -- adding wiki links to other Wikipedia articles is definitely the most important thing, followed by citations in the fashion she suggests.
  • We've had a few major athletic moments in the "Metamorphoses," if you want to add those -- most notably, I think, the wrestling match between Hercules and Achelous and the wrestling match between Peleus and Thetis -- they would take precedence over the epics we haven't read. But if you're done, you're done.
  • I'll second Virginia in saying that you've done an amazing job!
