Hiking and health

[edit]

Hi, Dog purse, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm sorry to have reverted your note about the health benefits of hiking, but as you probably saw, policy is pretty strict about that.

I think it's a great idea to add more information there, though. Here's a WP:MEDRS-compliant source about a different activity, Nordic walking, which mentions in passing that brisk walking is unanimously agreed to be healthful; here's another great source, unfortunately mostly in Greek, saying that hiking (defined as walking for 4 to 11 hours at a moderate pace for one to several days) is the kind of exercise health organizations recommend. You could find some information in these sources and try adding it again.

And the best welcome present I could give you: this webpage will let you turn a paper's digital object identifier into a Wikipedia-style citation quickly and easily. Good luck, and happy editing! FourViolas (talk) 00:31, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
