Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "DonateToWikipedia", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it's misleading. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Kleuske (talk) 13:37, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The username is upholding a sentiment, it is not abusive. It is not impersonating any person or organization. --DonateToWikipedia (talk) 13:47, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree, "DonateToWikipedia" is in direct violation of Username policy. See WP:IU "Usernames including phrases such as "wikipedia", "wikimedia", "wiktionary", "(WMF)", or similar if they give the incorrect impression that the account may be officially affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation or one of its projects." Okay, I wasn't aware. No, I am not officially associated. I will put a name change request. Thanks. --DonateToWikipedia (talk) 13:56, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Submitted a username change. The form mentioned that till 16th it may not be processed. --DonateToWikipedia (talk) 14:16, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The request you mentioned does not show in Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple as of this writing. Please do the request today or we will be forced to close the account for username rules violation. -- Alexf(talk) 14:28, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps the form does not log it here. Anyways, I have logged one at the location you have mentioned. Thanks. --DonateToWikipedia (talk) 15:22, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Some glitch, it did not come up. I submitted again. --DonateToWikipedia (talk) 15:25, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
DonateToWikipedia and Alexf, if the username change request was submitted at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, those requests go into a queue that only global renamers and stewards can see; regular users, including English Wikipedia administrators, cannot access this queue. I would like to be able to confirm that DonateToWikipedia had indeed submitted a request to that queue, but unfortunately the entire global rename interface is disabled due to maintenance. However, I don't think we can blame users for submitting requests to the queue and not the traditional username change request page. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 16:25, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
K6ka I see. Wasn't aware. Thanks for the info. -- Alexf(talk) 16:28, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
