Thank you for the welcome note. But what "unconstructive" edits are you talking about? Every edit I have made has been intended as constructive. You need to make yourself clearer please. --Douglas the Master (talk) 19:57, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit summary "Funny, but I lived 17 years in Oxford and it still took me 2 hours to reach London" isn't constructive one bit, see Wikipedia:No original research. Your edit of "and sarcastically referred to "officially" as "London" Oxford" isn't helpful or appropriate for a Wikipedia article either. I very much doubt the owners chose to sarcastically name the airport, it was mostly like a business move like how Farnborough Airport styles itself as "the gateway to London" although it's 32 miles away. The name London Oxford Airport is used by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Oxfordshire County Council and the Oxford Mail among countless others. London Oxford Airport is the commonname and you have not provided any consensus for a proposed change. Gavbadger (talk)
OK So I went OTT. But that's miles from being "unconstructive". Let's put the name of airport issue to one side for a moment. The article titles are all at Oxford Airport, Gatwick Airport and so on and so forth. I'm saying let's just give the "pure" name some priority before we begin London-izing everything. Sure that is reasonable. I don't mind if you change what I edited. It's only when a full revert comes that I start getting annoyed. --Douglas the Master (talk) 20:55, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Salford[edit]

This was debated and Salford is a city. Not a district, if you have issues with it. Discuss on talk page or you will be at risk of WP: Editwarring and disruptive editing. No proof is not a reason. Thanks DragonofBatley (talk) 13:19, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit wars[edit]

Please stop reverting edits to push your version of events. Re Guildford: the statement about Guildford being a town with a cathedral is already made in the article. Having a cathedral has not been the defining characteristic of a city for centuries. Re Broughton Castle, firstly you don't cite a source in the article, secondly IMDB is not a reliable source to quote, being WP:UGC. If you can find a reliable source then re-add it. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:41, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'll meet you halfway. I'm fine with IMDB not being a reliable source. The Guildford business is more my area of expertise, so I'll keep off your patch but please don't interfere with my edits on articles to do with towns, cities & geography. --Douglas the Master (talk) 09:42, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's not to do with meeting half way. Your first edit is based on an unreliable source and your second merely repeats what is already stated in the article. Also please don't presume my areas of expertise. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:46, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
