This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Harvard Papers in Botany, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.huh.harvard.edu/publications. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. I am the Assistant Editor for Harvard Papers in Botany, can I use the content if authorized by the Editor or the Publisher? I generated the content in the first place for our website. Please let me know how to proceed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dtremont (talkcontribs) August 25 2008

Hi. In order to duplicate material, we need external verification of permission. This is necessary because we do not require identity verification at account creation, so we otherwise cannot ensure that you have authority to release the material. There are two ways that copyright holders can verify permission to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (which, note, permits modification and re-use, including commercially, only requiring attribution):
  • You may place a note on the original website stating that re-use is permitted under the GNU Free Documentation License, or released into the public domain and leave a note at the talk page of the new article with a link to where we can find that note.
  • You may send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to <permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the talk page of the article. (For the language your note should contain, please see WP:Permission, which includes a boilerplate release form.)
It is happenstance that I saw your note here. (I am a volunteer administrator at the copyright problems board, and I was investigating to see that the new version of the article did not contain infringement.) Generally, notes left at your own talk page may not receive a response unless you also include {{helpme}}, which will alert volunteers that you are in need of assistance. You can also ask questions at Wikipedia's help desk, which is typically manned around the clock by volunteers. Please remember to sign your notes with four tildes, which will automatically expand into a timestamp and your username. You are also more than welcome to stop by my talk page if I may assist you.
As you are connected to the Harvard Papers in Botany, please let me also direct you to our conflict of interest guidelines. We urge caution to contributors who wish to work on subjects with which they are affiliated. It is not impossible to contribute to these, but it does require extra care to remain neutral and attentive to sourcing. All facts must be verifiable by our readers; we cannot accept information which can't be verified, even if you know it to be true. (We refer to such information as "original research".)
Since you are new to Wikipedia, I'll note that the colored text hide links to various policies and guidelines which you might like to read. Please forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvious. :)
Thank you for your contribution. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:38, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
