The mysterious ":0" reference
[edit]Hi, I see you're a) a student and b) are using the ":0" meme for references. There is, I think, excellent reason to give refs NAMES rather than non-memorable numbers. Question: is someone actually TEACHING you to use ":0" and so on? I'd love to stop them! No violence implied, just a vigorous quarter of an hour of Platonic questioning. Hi Chiswick Chap, I am the instructor for the course that this student is taking. Thanks for pointing out this mistake: this change was this student's first attempt at updating anything on Wikipedia. I did not teach him to use that meme; I believe this was just a mistake on his part, and I am sure that he will not do it again. Best, --Cprather3 (talk) 14:47, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

- Chiswick Chap - it's actually a feature of how the Visual Editor names references. I've raised the issue on the VE feedback page, but it doesn't seem high priority for them. As an added problem, there's no easy way to name your refs in VE. It's all very annoying. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:34, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Phenology in Snakefly
[edit]I think you may want to look at the wording choice for the lead sentence in Snakefly. Phenology does not make sense for the sentence. Also I assume Aspok was discussing as fossil species rather then a single fossil specimen.--Kevmin § 14:52, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
Indeed, thank you for this comment and thank you for leaving the wording up until I could change. I have changed phenology to phenotype and think it helps describe what I was trying to say much better. I also reworded how I put the fossilized species in their some, but if you have better suggestions I'm more than open to hearing them !
