Table sorting

[edit]

Hello. If I'd taken the time to explain that because of the brackets in the cells, the contents were being treated as alphanumeric strings rather than numbers, so the shorter ones would need leading zeroes to make them sort in numerical order, you'd have been able to fix it yourself in the first place :-) Whoever designed that table layout wants shooting, in my humble opinion. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:09, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

would appreciate your help!

[edit]

Hi ! I am new to wiki so i hope I'm typing this in the right spot! I'm reaching out to other users for help. As I understand it, I need to track down an established wiki editor to help me rid the first article i've created ("Stone and Stone")of the ugly box that was posted on top "This article has multiple issues....".

I know exactly how these complaints came about. In my ignorance on how wiki works, I gave myself the same nickname as the subject I was writing on and then a whole drama ensued, as it was assumed that I was my subject and that I was writing an autobiography! In truth, I am a huge comedy fan and biographer and was dipping my toes for the first time in wikipedia waters!

Any help or solutions you could provide me when you get the chance would be greatly appreciated! This poor little article certainly doesn't deserve such an ugly heading box because of my wiki-ignorance! Thank you in advance for your time! Arthur Turner and Oxford United.

[edit]

Hi Eddie. I started editing this as a result of clearing up vandalism but it isn't an area of expertise. I note our mutual friend User talk:86.134.76.170 has been editing Arthur Turner (footballer born 1909) to say (uncited) that he managed Oxford United. As all other edits have been vandalism I've removed it but note it is in the oxford article. Could you possibly check? If I'd been certain, I would have put an immediate ban threat up.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2015–16 Oxford United F.C. season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Ryan Taylor and Alex MacDonald. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
