If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Olivia arben requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]

Hi, thanks for your edits. I see that you've created some pages on Olivia Arben and Nicholas Cary. A few thoughts and questions:

  • First up, I just don't believe Ms. Arben is notable by Wikipedia's standards, meaning that there is significant coverage of her in multiple published, non-self-authored sources, on the information given in the article. I'm willing to be proven wrong on this and if you know of other publications about her - books, interviews, documentary films - it would be good to cite them. But "she's done some modelling and looked very glamorous at some film premieres and she got mentioned in a Mail article" wouldn't normally make her notable.
  • For Mr. Cary - is there coverage of his work as a businessman? I'm not confident he meets Wikipedia notability standards for his athletics.
  • I next have to ask - do you have any business connection to these people, meaning that you work for them or are their contractor or intern? If you are, you may need to disclose it under section 4 of Wikimedia's terms of service. (You do not have to disclose your real name, just say that a business relationship exists if it does.)
  • Finally, I notice that these look like promotional pictures and one of them has I think been published as credited to Getty Images. Can you please confirm that you have been given permission by the original photographer and/or license holder to upload these photographs to Wikipedia?

Thanks for your help. Blythwood (talk) 22:55, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for your speedy reply. I do not work for either, I have been following them since meeting the couple in Cannes this year 2017.

I interviewed them both in Cannes this year as Cary and his family is notorious with Rupert Murdoch and Radio scene. (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/bskyb-cheat-is-dished-by-murdoch-1045861.html)

Nico co-founded one of the UK largest startups and that is heavily documented (Sportlobster) https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/sportlobster

His company was backed by Cristiano Ronaldo (footballer) - http://www.thedrum.com/profile/media-agency-group/news/167475/media-agency-group-takes-sportlobster-ronaldo-and-groves

Nico is currently awaiting acknowledgement for his world record for his Penny Farthing challenge. I will remove his 'triathlete' statement as I've checked the above link you sent (thank you). In his interview he said that has was a triathlete.

Olivia Arben is his girlfriend and is currently filming in a movie and is regarded as a top UK model and has a strong following.

The original photo is acceptable to use for Wikipedia.

Thank you for your explanation above :)

  • OK, thanks for this. Our admin team will consider the Nicholas Cary article. Sorry if this seemed a bit unfriendly - we have a standard that articles published must certainly meet notability standards and I was rushing to get through the queue of new material yesterday. While Ms. Arben doesn’t seem right now to meet WP:PERSON, our notability standard, if you want to work on a draft and hold it until things change you’re very welcome to. WP:AFC, the recommended route to publishing articles on Wikipedia, explains how you can do this.
With the Cannes photo, I'd like to just understand this a bit better - did the photographer/rights holder convey to you that they were happy for you to donate the photo to Wikipedia? It would have to be in writing (assuming you're not the photographer yourself) so we know that they were willing to let it be used for all purposes, commercial and non-commercial. Blythwood (talk) 17:20, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I completely understand and yes the photo was taken by a colleague of mine at that particular film premiere. Thank you for your reply and explanation.
