Dear Ms. Britt:

Due to a mistake, a protection notice was incorrectly placed on the article Edie Britt. The page was was not actually protected. I do not know whether you have received an e-mail from AmiDaniel, in case you have not, allow me me to explain why your changes were removed. I do not mean to offend you, but you may not be sufficiency notable to have your own article. There are two guidelines that may help you understand, one of which is WP:BIO, which explains how notable many editors feel subjects should be before they have articles written on them. Also Wikipedia discourages writing about yourself, since it is often hard for people to write about themselves neutrally. The reason you were temporarily blocked from editing was a technical problem, due to the way AOL works, anyone using AOL can wind up editing from the same IP address that someone else was using minutes before. This means what likely happened is that you were assigned an IP that had previously been used by someone else to vandalise. If you have any questions you can either e-mail me, or leave me a note on my talk page. Thanks, Prodego talk 20:01, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now, in response to your e-mail, it appears that you have been autoblocked as a result of the indefinite block of User:WildSusan. As the IP address you provided was AOL, I'm sure that it has already been unblocked, but let me sort through the autoblocks and see if I can get you back editing (if you're not already). I apologize for the inconvenience, but please understand that autoblocking is an unfortunate side-effect over which I have little to no control. AmiDaniel (talk) 21:19, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, the autoblock I could find has been removed. If you still have difficulties editing, then please add {{unblock}} to your talk page or e-mail me again, and someone will be around to help you right away. Sorry for the inconvenience. AmiDaniel (talk) 21:23, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Thanks so much for the wonderful and concise information you provided. It is much appreciated. Namaste, Edie Britt

No problem. If you have any questions in the future, do not hesitate to ask. Good luck! Prodego talk 20:29, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edie vs "Edie"[edit]

That's all fine and dandy, but why don't you just make your own page? Since you have the acclaim you say you have, then you deserve your own article. Adding the "portrays" and "as" in the fictional Edie can come off that Sheridan is in fact portraying you. Take these two. Samuel Wilson aka Uncle Sam from the States of course and the Marvel Comics character, the Falcon have one similarity, their real names. Both are named Samuel Wilson, however the latter isn't based, portrayed as after Uncle Sam but both have separate articles. Anyways, I'll figure out what to do because you and the fictional Ms Britt are in fact separate entities and should be treated as such so that people can gain info on both of y'all for whatever reason that may be.

PS (I'm not Hindu so Namaste is meaningless to me but thanks anyways)

WP:AUTO suggests that one should not make an article about oneself. Prodego talk 01:17, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vanity articles[edit]

Please don't create articles about yourself or your friends. We're building an encyclopedia here, and it's very unlikely that your article fits in with that. Creating such articles also makes work for others as we rush to delete them. The Wikipedia policy on vanity articles can be reviewed here and here and the reason your article was deleted can be reviewed here. If you need any more information about this, please visit this page. Thanks.ЯEDVERS 15:21, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recreation of deleted article[edit]

Dear Edie, as you know, the article you created about yourself has gone through a debate process in which the Wikipedia community concluded to delete it. Therefore, it is unappropriate to simply recreate it again as if nothing had happened. If you believe this article should be recreated, please feel free to submit a request at Deletion review. If you need any further assistence, please don't hesitate to ask me. Regards, Phædriel tell me - 15:27, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Response From Edie Britt to Recreation of Deleted Article[edit]

Since I am new to Wiki, I was not aware of the rules as you have now explained them to me. I was also not aware that the community went through a debate regarding this, and would like to view that debate if possible.

I do appreciate the help, and only posted myself up there as I get a lot of grief about not being on the site from my clients.

Thanks for your assistance. Edie Britt ~not the pretend one :)
