Last Name

[edit]

Edie Britt is no longer Edie Britt she died Married so her name is Edie Williams stop changing it back to britt the page should remain Edie Britt, but everything else is Williams she never went back to her maiden name.

If there is to be any concern about spoilers on this page (as the alert would suggest), then the final episode note should be changed.

Edie Britt vs "Edie Britt"

[edit]

We have to figure out what to do with the fictional Edie Britt and the actual Edie Britt. You can't say that Nicolette Sheridan is portraying Edie as her character isn't a psychic medium... she's a promiscuous real estate agent. The factual info shouldn't be at the top either. If anything it should be trivia (eg see Andrew Van De Kamp as he is loosely based on Marc Cherry). Short of that, the real Ms Britt could always just create her own page instead of using the fictional character to gain publicity. Originalsinner 03:47, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear OriginalSinner: I appreciate your concerns, however I am well known nationally and internationally. I am not attempting to gain publiclity. I would hope that people realize that there is no suggestion of any connection between myself and the fictional character. I have been in business for 27 years as a minister and spiritual advisor, and the fictional character has only been around for a bit. I am not a tv personality, nor am I a man hungry realtor. I have clients in England, Australia, Dubai, United States, Canada and many other countries. I have no desire to do anything but humbly continue my work, while correcting the facts.

On the Wiki page it states that Nicolette Sheridan is portraying the fictional character ABC Series Edie Britt, not me. Thats quite clear. I think most people are intelligent enough to see the difference. The TV series is fun, but certainly factual info should always override trivial Television information. What has our world come to when trivia overrides reality?

I hope you can understand.

Namaste and peace,

Edie Britt Edie Britt 13:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've split the page, but would expect it to be userfied at some point. Ms Britt, it would serve your purposes better - and Wikipedias - if you sed this information on your User page, rather than as a Wikipedia article. Realise that anyone can edit a wikipedia article, and by creating your own page you leave yourself open to the page being altered in ways that you do not necessarily wish. Creating your own WP page is like inviting the paparazzi in to rummage through your house. Have a good look at both WP:AUTO and WP:VAIN for more information. Blessed be, Grutness...wha? 02:07, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MM Grutness, I like the edit, and think its a good solution. It ends the idea that people might think Nicolette Sheridan is portraying me, and also allows others to see that there is a real Edie Britt, if they want to. If not, they can ignore it.

I don't know what userfied means, and I am actually having a difficult time navigating Wikipedia. There seems to be so many different areas for this sort of discussion. I am still learning how it all works.

I appreciate the edit, and the education. I suppose that small one liner I put in about who I am will suffice and if there is continued difficulty with it, I can delete it, is that correct?

Thanks for the help. Edie BrittEdie Britt 15:03, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article about the spiritual advisor is up for deletion. If it ends up getting deleted, we won't have to worry about this anymore, and if it's kept, the link to the spiritual advisor should remain on the DH character page. Cheater1908 00:23, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Serial Divorcee?

[edit]

Somebody please explain to me how divorcing 2 men is considered a problem? Erica Kane married 10 and she isn't classified as one! 72.82.22.247 06:36, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

She is too. 89.138.173.5 19:49, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edie Britt appearance

[edit]

Edie Britt died on the last episode of the third season of Desperate Housewives, should there be a "Last appearance" in the information column? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.1.131.191 (talk) 17:50, August 20, 2007 (UTC)

She committed suicide but will not die, see the article and reference within. --Kudret abi 01:51, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The 5th Lead??? I don't think so...

[edit]

Well she did replace Bree in series 3 for a short while but now she has gone back to being more of a supporting character, in Series 4 for example, she is just part of Gabriele's story and has considerabley less screen time. She dosen't even appear on the opening sequence with the others. The closest she has ever been to the 5th lead is when she replaced Bree for the time she was written out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Super Badnik (talkcontribs) 09:31, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

She is a fifth lead, they dont just put her in the advertisements and on the dvd covers ad in the promos for the crack --82.39.152.89 (talk) 17:38, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, even in Seasons 1 & 2, when she wasn't as prominent, and had no longer been identifyed as the fifth lead, she was still featured in the ads and promos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.131.105.178 (talk) 20:58, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Charles; ex-husband?

[edit]

Does anyone else think its Edie's time to get married? I think she should re-unite with her ex-husband charles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.221.176 (talk) 03:08, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you posting your desires towards the show's storylines on Wikipedia? This isn't a fan forum. -- Renaboss (talk) 00:28, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is it true that Edie Britt really moved away from Wisteria Lane?

Is it true that Edie Britt really moved away from Wisteria Lane in the episode Mother Said? AdamDeanHall (talk) 13:53, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

It is mentioned in the third season that her full name is Edith. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.221.176 (talk) 05:43, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Her name should be changed to Edith "Edie" Britt —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.221.176 (talk) 21:39, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When is it stated that she's Edith? And even so, she is widely known as Edie Britt, the page shouldn't be Edith "Edie" Britt, that's ridiculous. -- Renaboss (talk) 00:29, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Her name is still Williams! She never changed her name back to Britt, Keep the article "Edie Britt" because that is her common name but dont change it back to her name its still Williams, Gosh! She Died Edie Williams not Edie Britt! -JohnZ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.165.12.4 (talk) 18:31, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is Edie Britt really coming back in Season 5 of Desperate Housewives?

Tell me something I don't really know: Is Edie Britt really coming back in Season 5 of Desperate Housewives? AdamDeanHall (talk) 17:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edie Britt in a swimsuit

[edit]

Yesterday I saw a behind-the-scenes look at the new season of Desperate Housewives, and I got a glimpse of Edie Britt in a swimsuit. If Edie's in a swimsuit, where is she going to find a pool to swim in? AdamDeanHall (talk) 20:02, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

Throughout seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 Edie drives a Nissan 350z Roadster. During season 4 she has a Jaguar XK Roadster for the day but returns it to a dealer. In season 5, she drives a Lexus SC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.211.46.133 (talk) 13:36, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whose funeral was filmed several weeks ago?

[edit]

I read a sentence that said "A source revealed that a funeral was filmed several weeks ago". Whose funeral was filmed? Please let me know. This is very important. Thank you. AdamDeanHall (talk) 17:05, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was Eli Scrugg's from the 100th episode. Hsm7 (talk) 03:53, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Page quote

[edit]

Okay this is seriously annoying, just leave the quote i put on, no one would want to sit and read the big huge paragraph AdamDeanHall has been adding, the classic one liner about the dryer is all Edie and shows what her character is like --82.39.152.89 (talk) 17:41, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edie Britt age?

[edit]

I can provide a reliable source of Edie Britt's birthdate!!! It was episode "DRESS BIG" (season 3 episode 17). Edie went to Carlos in Mike House. Suddenly she said: I'm a forty-year-old party girl. Do you think that I don't know that my days are numbered?" . It was end of whole season - 2007 year. 2007 - her 40 = 1967. When she died, in season 5 (2014 year), she had 47 years old. Michu1945 (talk) 22:08, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this is a reliable source. -- Magioladitis (talk) 22:09, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have to read Wikipedia:Reliable sources. It reads "Articles should rely on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy". A quote in a certain scene in a certain episode is not enough. In fact it is more WP:Original research. -- Magioladitis (talk) 22:27, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WHAT? Whe she said what was her age it is not a reliable source? Michu1945 (talk) 22:37, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this information confirmed anywhere else or is just this line in a four-seasons tv series? -- Magioladitis (talk) 23:19, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
When Gabi Marquez said to Zachary that she have 31 years old (episode 14 season 3) and Susan said to Carol Prudy, that she have thirty eight years old (episode 9 season 2) it is not a reliable source? But their birthdate are existing on their pages. Michu1945 (talk) 09:07, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
They should not IMHO. -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:51, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What is it IMHO? By the way you don't answered my question. Michu1945 (talk) 08:57, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Let's say then that WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not an argument. Fro fictional characters birth dates I wouldn't use lines of the series. Official websites, newspapers and magasines are much better sources. -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:02, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Michu1945 (talk) 09:07, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Last Appearance

[edit]

Why is it that her last appearance has to be marked as her death scene? She was last scene as a hallucination? Why do we have to keep it like that? Arjoccolenty (talk) 19:57, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Her full name is Edie Britt Williams, she was married to Dave upon the day she was killed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.93.145.89 (talk) 08:47, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm not sure why people keep changing it to Britt. The article should be Edie Britt, because that's how she's known to mos t. However, when she died, her last name was Williams. I don't understand what the confusion is. When people die, they don't lose their married names... Akcvtt (talk) 22:05, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
EJ: Exactly why isn't her name Edie Williams she died married and even if she was to get a divorce she would have most likely been Williams entell a legal name change look at Susan Mayer she has had Mayer up until season 6 and she has been divorced the whole, time, But Bree is a Van de Kamp again, but Edie Died a Williams and she is still a Williams.

I would put on her grave Edie Britt-Williams

Someone decided to edit my comment with the statements above, but that wasn't my account. I changed it.Akcvtt (talk) 22:05, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Her name in season 5 was Edie Williams - season 5 episode 11. Michu1945 (talk) 19:35, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tania McCann and Andy Britt

[edit]

Since this brand new Desperate Housewives episode, "Would I Think of Suicide?" airs tonight on ABC, there's a possibility that Tania McCann (Jennifer Coolidge) and Andy Britt (Dominic Monaghan) will appear. True or false? AdamDeanHall (talk) 16:02, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, false. Michu1945 (talk) 21:43, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kara Stribling ?

[edit]

Why does the Kara Stribling mention keep being deleted ? Amzer (talk) 20:06, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Post-death 'appearances'

[edit]

I have removed this section as it was completely inaccurate - it only referred to episodes where Edie was mentioned (plus an episode where a 'pregnant blonde woman' who could have been anyone appeared). Another character mentioning her name does not mean she appeared. Smurfmeister (talk) 14:39, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
