As the article had significant vandalism and I was unable to revert only the vandalism, I reverted back to 25 Sep 2012, which undid your edits as well. Sorry. Jim1138 (talk) 21:46, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Wall-mount kitchen range hood - "Master" from Futuro Futuro.jpg

Hi, I noticed you've tagged this image for deletion.

I have explicit permission from the company's marketing department to use this image on Wikipedia. I have mentioned this in the image description.

I understand the Wikipedia inclination to use free alternatives "when/where available", but in this case, there are NO alternatives available.

Could you please explain to me, in simple terms, the problem with using content that is copyrighted, but the copyright holder explicitly allows it to be posted on Wikipedia? And provide a suggestion on how this issue can be resolved?

Please let me know. Thank you!

1927metropolis (talk) 18:31, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

You may have "explicit permission" but Wikipedia does not. And you did not tag the images as having any kind of permission at all; you tagged them as fair use and they are not. Eeekster (talk) 18:44, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Yes, it does. And yes, I did. Please review the file details. I selected the "Special source and license conditions (optional) --> "Permission granted, but only for Wikipedia" option, and the file details show the following notice: "In addition to the fair-use assertion shown on this page, the copyright holder has granted permission for this image to be used in Wikipedia. This permission does not extend to third parties."
I've added my dispute tags to the images, as per the above explanation. 1927metropolis (talk) 19:08, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
"Permission granted, but only for Wikipedia" is grounds for immediate deletion. Eeekster (talk) 19:27, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

The Air I Breathe (band)

Hello Eeekster, I think the article about the band The Air Breathe that I created does not deserve to be sent for deletion because I put sources and is not exactly like the old one was created, because the old did not have any source. And this it is not my first article created, see in my Contributions I've created some articles. And i hate to create stubs, but i will put more information about the band soon. I think that my edit for popup restaurants was in order?

I appreciate your invitiation to respond to your undo. In as much as listing notable and less known chefs who have been a part of shaping popup history, listing the first popup informational directory-- show of it taking root--- is a part of the phenomenon's layered and growing existence. Thanks for considering this.

Hello Eeekster,

I hope you will reconsider the edit for the popup restaurants page. Including that there is now an online resource-- a white pages of sorts-- for popup retail and other events --popup republic-- it is at least as important as import a part of history--- compared to something like VACANT being one of the first stores.. ( a fact which others may disagree with) As you see that is the lead element of popup shown history!

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bureauopolis (talkcontribs) 00:40, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Liar

Stop lying. The files I uploaded are totally free and I provided valid so don't go around accusing people of uploading un-free files when they are public domain! Travisplatypus (talk) 03:26, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Then you should have no trouble proving it as has been asked for. Eeekster (talk) 18:38, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

It is copyrighted from the moment it is created. Saying it isn't doesn't change that. Your license tag claims that you created the image. Did you? Eeekster (talk) 22:06, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
pictures cost money to be copyrighted — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prooktastic (talkcontribs) 22:09, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
You really need to read up on copyright law. Pictures are immediately under copyright as soon as they are created. No money needed. Eeekster (talk) 22:19, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
From copyright.gov: "Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device." Eeekster (talk) 22:22, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

Sorry

Im very sorry, i was showing my friends that sometimes wikipedia is not always a good source because people can edit things. This will not happen again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wyattdog11 (talkcontribs) 21:41, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

New User

Hi Eeekster,

My username is Xiaoewentao and I am the author of Writing in entrepreneurship. I have recently made a mistake of accidentally uploading an image that I didn't cite properly. This has led to my page being considered for deletion. The wikipedia page in itself is 100% in my own words and the resources I used are from one single website and one interview person that is cited at the end of the page. I was wondering if perhaps we could remove the tag? Sorry for the inconveniences. I have never used wikipedia before and I promise it will never happen again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xiaoewentao (talkcontribs) 05:31, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

HomeAdvisor

Thanks for the note. If you have a free minute, would you mind going into a little more detail on which sections you are concerned about? I'm happy to replace the article if it seems too promotional, or add more citations. Any guidance you provide would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Please

Please delete the pictura that i uploaded. I don't know how delete it! Thanks :)

Laggridore

Hello, I have seen you have propose for deletion the article about "Laggridore". Before doing that, can you please tell me wich part of the article need more references ? I've tried to add references as much as i can. Laggridore is a new company with a different form of perfume (the powder form is patented) and that's why i think it should be in wikipedia. Thanks, Marinelebois

Lead really too long at Occupy Harvard?

It corresponds precisely with the guidelines at WP:LEAD (18392 character article, three paragraph lead). If you believe that some of the lead info is extraneous, perhaps you could make that suggestion on the talk page. groupuscule (talk) 16:42, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

Musa Khankhel

Hello. Could you remove the infringement notice from Musa Khankhel? I usually copy and paste from a news article when I create a Wiki article, then edit it down. Probably not the best way for this reason. Should be fixed now. Thanks. Fortibus (talk) 00:55, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Re:

First off, please don't Don't template the regulars. Another thing is, I added another template to substitute yours. I had to remove your template to check for sources on Google and you incorrectly added content on WP:AFD. I have added comment on the AFD. --Webclient101 (talk) 01:05, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

I was in the middle of doing the afd and you removed it. Not nice. Eeekster (talk) 01:07, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
I know, I have made a mistake and I'm sorry for that. Not everyone is perfect. --Webclient101 (talk) 01:10, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Karl Zwicky references

Hi Eeekster,

I added some references to the Karl Zwicky article I created the day before yesterday. Can I delete your Deletion Nomitation from the before mentioned article?

Fort Thunder Artists

Hey man, just wanted to say, I know both Brian Chippendale and Christopher Forgues personally, they're good friends of mine and they've given me permission to use those items. --Endlessmug (talk) 02:14, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Okay, but you still need evidence of permission. The notice gives you links to find out more. Eeekster (talk) 02:37, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
That really seems a roundabout way when I could just get him to write something on here in a day or so. Also, I realize I have bias because I know the subject, but it also gives me the advantage of being able to tighten up the article even more. Make it more concise. As it was, the discographies were too long, the paragraphs were unorganized, there were irrelevant factual bits that I cleaned up. I guess you could argue I put too many images in there, or that makes it more "appealing" which is unbiased. But a picture is worth a thousand words, and as a historian, or wikipedian, don't you think they're worthwhile? --Endlessmug (talk) 02:56, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
I'm simply notifying you about policy. If you don't like the policy, you can discuss it. But I don't think you'll be seeing it changed. Eeekster (talk) 03:00, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, good point. You got me! :p --Endlessmug (talk) 08:50, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Album art for a page

Hi Eeekster,

I've created a page for the album Jimmy's Show by Jim Noir, and i saw you contributed something in the history. All i want to ask is, i'm new to this, and would love to add album art to my page but i just don't know how. Would there be a possibility you could do it if you had a chance? I'm not tech-savvy enough to venture into images (copyright rules, etc.)

If you had a spare moment to do that, it would be much appreciated! thanks. (Frankysandwich (talk) 04:18, 15 October 2012 (UTC))

Removed BLPPROD from Yōhei Tadano

I removed the BLPPROD as there was already an external link present when the PROD was applied. Bgwhite (talk) 07:35, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Please remove notice on copyright infringement from File:Johan Boshoff deco stop.jpg and File:Johan Boshoff Commercial diver as no false information regarding this file was supplied. I do have permission and can get the subject himself to provide email in this regard. He is currently in London as he attended an international tech diving convention show as one of the keynote speakers and will send the mail upon his return. You are also more than welcome to contact him directly at johan@divestyle.co.za or johan@thedivespot.co.za to confirm. I trust that you will remove the infringement notice as I also take copyright quite serious as well as ungrounded allegations of infringements. PoseidonDiver (talk) 20:15, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Have read the Wikipedia policy and will provide email with appropriate evidence. PoseidonDiver (talk) 20:34, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Paul Gilmartin Wiki page not a duplicate of Janet Varney

Hi Eekster,

I noticed that you tagged my entry for speedy deletion. I think I should have used a template for my article and created it in Sandbox mode before publishing it.

That's probably what happened, but can you please remove my mark for speedy deletion?

Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Gilmartin

Thanks.

Patrick Sheehy

You asked for the full reference to be shown for the url. The url refers to the topic Re-member on the site of the Parliament of Victoria, Australia. The site contains the text in the book edited by Geoff Browne, Biographical Register of the Victorian Parliament 1900-84. I have listed the page number from this book, and the url is placed after the ISBN number for the book. Have I done this correctly?

Looks fine. Eeekster (talk) 18:01, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Flightfox

Hi there, I created the Flightfox page and was wondering if you could provide a speedy deletion justification on the talk page? The page is small at the moment, but the website is notable and with some help could be expanded well. Looking forward to hearing from you. Wipkipkedia (talk) 03:11, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

There's no indication of notability; not even a claim of it. Eeekster (talk) 03:13, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

WP:WEB Pages require media sources external from site, this website so clearly meets notability in my opinion. I'm not an admin but would ask the speedy gets pulled down and the article is moved to a "regular" deletion debate given that there is legitimate disagreement. Would love to here your thoughts on Talk:Flightfox. Wipkipkedia (talk) 03:17, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

What's the deal here? Aren't screen shots allowed under fair use qualifications? FWiW Bzuk (talk) 02:55, 23 October 2012 (UTC).

You also made a public domain claim that lacks evidence to support it. Eeekster (talk) 18:00, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
Copying and adjusting an old form was the problem; it's fixed now. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 13:10, 24 October 2012 (UTC).

Image Use in Verinag

You asked for improving the image use in the article titled Verinag. I want to help doing this. Tell me how image use is not right and how to improve it in that article? Akshey25 (talk) 06:12, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

I read the image use policy of Wikipedia and have made some changes in article titled Verinag for improving the image use in the article. Please review the said article and see if i am going in the right direction. If you find the article complying with quality standards, please remove the clean up tag also. Akshey25 (talk) 20:13, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

I declined this one for now, both the article and that ref ( http://uc.socioambiental.org/en/uso-sustentável/environmental-protection-area ) quote Brazil Law as the source - The laws may be PD, I'm not sure - I tried wading through the pages with Google Translate and it seems like there is freedom of information, but not 100% sure. You are quite welcome to try a PUF, maybe a Portuguese speaker will chip in...  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:24, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

I removed the BLPPROD tag. The West article had a reference when the BLPPROD was applied. Remember, there can be no reference or external link (reliable or unreliable) in the article to apply the BLPPROD tag.
