A tag has been placed on Draft:Eliyiah (artist), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi GPL93,
Thank you so much for your quick review! This is Rachel, I am responsible for Eliyiah's PR and recently we have been working on new releases from Eliyiah.
Before I challenge the removal directly as you suggest, I was wondering what is the reason for direct removal?
It is an informatively written piece as are other articles on Wikipedia with sufficient relevant source references about his background and releases.
I doubt that the reason 'to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic' is in order and would therefore like to know specifically how it should be written in order to become 'in order to become encyclopedic'.
Could you take me through your view? Thanks again for your quick review!

This is a violation of multiple Wikipedia policies. First, it is very much written in a promotional tone and therefore should likely be deleted. Also, I highly recommend read WP:PAID and WP:COI. Wikipedia is a nonprofit and please refrain from using it to promote your client. GPL93 (talk) 20:27, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Eliyiah. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Eliyiah. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Eliyiah|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:30, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
Thanks for your quick posts. Sorry, I didn't know that Wikipedia works so strictly..
I would like to state through this way that I AM NOT directly or indirectly receiving or expecting to receive compensation for the edits.
I am doing this out of me for Eliyiah because I care about his online presentation. My personal goal is to inform people about his personalia in a good and timely manner online, I thought Wikipedia would be an excellent contribution to this.
Again, I am NOT being compensated directly or indirectly for my edits of Eliyiah and thought it was a valid and informative addition given his current online findability and collaborations. I completely misunderstood this from reading your responses and this actually scares me quite a bit.
Should I ever want to submit something to Wikipedia again I will read up better/well beforehand. For now I suggest that the page be deleted then!
Thanks again.
Kind regards,

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, Eliyiah, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username.

If you choose to keep your current username, please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org including your real name and your Wikipedia username to receive instructions from our volunteer response team about account verification. Please do not send documentation without being requested to do so.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our username policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Your requested new username cannot already be in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
Appeals: If, after reading the guide to appealing blocks you believe you were blocked in error, then you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice.
