Idries Shah FA candidacy

Hi Eric, I've submitted the Idries Shah article for FA: Wikipedia:Featured_article_candidates#Idries_Shah. Could you keep an eye on the FAC page and help with any permissions-related queries that might come up? Jayen466 07:50, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Have left a note on your talk page, Jayen. Cheers, EricT (talk) 19:14, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi Eric, re this comment at FAC: "http://www.amazon.com/Sufis-Idries-Shah/dp/product-description/0385079664 these are snippets of reviews, not the entire review itself. Better to read the entire review to make sure that Amazon has correctly caught the views of the reviewer." Any ideas? Is the review perhaps included in one of the old review collections? Hi Jayen, there are a number of these snippets in the files section of The Tenth Donkey:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/welcomeHomeFriends/
Look in files - documents, - psychology and - sufi resources for pdfs with the word "scan" or "snippets" in the name. I've had a look but haven't found what you are looking for.
Cheers, Eric.
I've deleted the quote now, nice though it was; getting hold of a 45-year-old Washington Post article without an exact publication date is too long a shot. Jayen466 15:32, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Eric, the Human Givens article has just survived an AfD (article for deletion), and notability has been demonstrated. It had been written pretty much as a personal essay apparently by one of the guys from the Human Givens Institute, and as a result didn't conform to WP standards (we've seen this sort of thing before ...). There are quite a few good sources on the talk page. Mightn't this be something from you? I also found a good source on Arthur J. Deikman, who's on the editorial board of Human Givens, which could still be mined further (see the talk page for the Deikman article, it is cited a few times already in the article). Only if you have time and the inclination --- these articles could do with some loving work being done on them, and I am a little busy just now. Cheers, Jayen466 15:30, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi Jayen, sorry I'm a bit tied up myself. I'm in the middle of a spurt of writing and want to make the most of that whilst the pot's on the boil, as it were, and I'm also thinking about winding down some of my web presence and regrouping.
I wouldn't know where to start with the Human Givens article to sort out what's there already, and to me -- even given the reviews that saved the article from deletion -- what seems to be lacking are other notable folk in that field saying quotable things about them. Lessing's notable, but her opinion doesn't count for much as an endorsement of a scientific method, and the Deikman link seems a bit too cosy to me. They were all pupils or associates of Shah and maybe buddy X thought having big buddy Y on the editorial board might give them some credibility and he thought it might help them out?
Sorry. With good wishes, EricT (talk) 21:05, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Many thanks for your good wishes, Rjanag and Quadell. Esowteric (talk) 14:20, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

RE:Octagon Press Ltd

Good stuff, the Lessing quote is good too, hadn't got round to a reception section but that does nicely. Cheers Eric Theaquaduct

Yes, well done Eric. :) Best, JN466 21:03, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
