User talk:FACT CHECKER
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, FACTS CHECKERS, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Walter Keane, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! Auric talk 19:03, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Help request
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Hello Auric. I am an individual. If I am required to change my username to indicate as such, can you please provide me with a direct link to do so? I read the link you provided, but I saw no wizard or request form for changing a username.
I am independently investigating the origins of Walter Keane and Margaret Keane's creative works. I have collected an enormous amount of data on this topic and I invite any sources or witnesses with testimony or evidence to offer for either party, to contact me so that I can fairly and objectively report the evolution of these artist's works. While I have sourced a significant number of early works for Walter, predating his association with Margaret, so far I have been unable to track down any of Margaret's work created prior to 1960. If anyone can provide me with signed and dated works for either artist, which predate 1960, and preferably predate 1953, this would be most helpful. Thank you. - Hi FACTS CHECKERS, try looking at WP:CHUS, which explains how to change your username. Cheers. Primefac (talk) 21:18, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you Primefac. I have placed a username change request.

Problematic username
[edit]As I have highlighted on the talk page of the person who handled your rename request, the chosen name is problematic. This came to light on English Wikinews where this is clearly against username policy. Xeno points out, in a comment on xyr userpage, this may-well not be in keeping with policies on Wikipedia either. --Brian McNeil /talk 20:10, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the heads up Brian McNeil. I have replied to your message at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Xeno#Rename_of_user_to_FACT_CHECKER FACT CHECKER (talk) 21:17, 25 September 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Walter Keane. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. — kikichugirl speak up! 01:37, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
kikichugirl, Wikipedia specifically discourages the promotion of libel and media gossip. Please refrain from suppressing factual evidence given by first hand witnesses. FACT CHECKER
Your recent editing history at Walter Keane shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Please take a look at WP:Reliable sources and avoid citing Facebook or promoting the BigEyesMovie site. We need more third party sources, not just primary sources, because right now, your edits violate WP:UNDUE and WP:PRIMARY. — kikichugirl speak up! 02:34, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at Walter Keane, you may be blocked from editing. — kikichugirl speak up! 02:38, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation
[edit]Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/ReportersWithoutBordersJournalist, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

[edit]This account has been blocked indefinitely as a sock puppet that was created to violate Wikipedia policy. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that all edits made while evading a block or ban may be reverted or deleted. If this account is not a sock puppet, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Bbb23 (talk) 00:22, 26 December 2014 (UTC) |
