Hello. Welcome to Flameviper's talk page. This is a place where you can leave messages for me. I will read them and reply, either here or at your talk page. Please do not troll, flame, or do anything else to piss me off. Thank you. ~ Flameviper

Howdy, I noticed that you uploaded the image Image:Flameviper-2.PNG and use it on your userpage. It seems to be a derivative work of the copyrighted work Image:SOAP poster.jpg. Generally derivative works inherit the copyright, so I don't think it can be listed as GFDL. I have listed it at Possibly unfree images for a second look. Thanks, --TeaDrinker 02:25, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • You're asking the wrong people. {{unblock}} ask Wikipedia admins to consider removing a Wikipedia block. You are not blocked from Wikipedia. Wikipedia admins are not in any way connected to whatever IRC channel happens to have blocked you; you'll need to talk to someone responsible for that, whoever or wherever that might be; it's not part of Wikipedia, even if people happen to be talking abot it there. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 20:27, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your behavior on titin

[edit]

Repeated blind reverts like this one are not constructive. Have you read the most recent posts on the talk page? Are you aware that your proposed "solution" has technical limitations that impair the article's accessibility to users with older browsers or slow internet connections? Your original titling of the section "Java?" does not indicate significant familiarity with web usability problems, and your contentions about the article's likely readership do not indicate significant familiarity with the topic of the article either. Welcome to wikinews

[edit]

Just wanted to say hi from wikinews (en), and I hope in some future time you will use your account there as something more then to make sure your not impersonated. (If not, don't worry, I have accounts on wiktionary, and wikiquote, which I'll probably never use) If you need any assistance in relation to wikinews, please don't hesitate to ask. Happy editing. Users who are currently online

[edit]

Hello. I see you've started a new category; [[Category:Users who are currently online]], which I think is the same as [[Category:Wikipedians who are currently online]] that was already there. Also I've noticed you Important note on the latter category, but I'm a bit confused about using that monobook thingy. Would appreciate your help and explanation. :) --TheEgyptian 11:47, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA

[edit]

Good luck. I inferred from your edit summary that you've stood before. Could you please include a link to this/these at the RfA page? Thanks --Dweller 13:09, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Flameviper X-1 is the most recent one. I've only run twice, not including this time. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 13:11, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I could post that link at the RfA, but (as I was trying to do above) you'd look better if you posted that yourself. :-) --Dweller 14:50, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. I see you've already done that, though... ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 16:33, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Meh, it doesn't matter. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 17:15, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re. RfA, eh?

[edit]

My comment was not meant to be harsh, but very straight to the many points I found against you becoming an admin. An adequate edit count would be at least 3000 total edits, of which at least 1000 on the mainspace and a few hundreds on Wikipedia space. Chances are that candidates with less than these values will fail a request for adminship. You are not to take offense at "low capacity to follow advice and improve". If you believe that I am wrong then just go ahead and prove it. Make great improvements in the next few months and I'll admit that I was wrong in your next RfA, which I would gladly support then. Regards, Húsönd 17:39, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will make an attempt. Thanks, Husond. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 17:41, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The statistics Husond mentions are generally considered a minimum for most people who !vote in RfAs. However, I think most people expect a former vandal to have more than the average candidate. I believe in second chances, but ex-vandals need to go the extra mile to prove they can be trusted with the tools. Sarah 13:55, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Which makes sense. Thanks. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 13:58, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA

[edit]

I chose to vote neutral because while my support/oppose vote will have little effect on the final results, I wanted to make the comment regarding keeping a level head in the face of confrontations. I know because I loathe confrontations but as I said, I speak from experience and if you are in any kind of administrative position you will have disagreements and plenty of opportunity to "butt heads". Just be sure not to let those situations get the best of you. Best of lucks with the RfA, I'll keep an eye on the result. Roadmr (t|c) 19:30, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Memories

[edit]

I remember you from your previous RfAs and your invitation to join adopt-a-user, however, you're mistaken about that page you linked to. I've never edited it before and in fact, neither have you. The only people to edit it were David Gerard, Rdsmith4, Adam Rock and Cydebot. Sarah 13:48, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It must have been a different WoW sock, then. I distinctly remember calling you a "demented poopy-saturated llama", in all caps no less. Sorry about that. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 13:51, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks

[edit]

With regards to your comments on User talk:Metros232: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Metros232 15:35, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is also unacceptable. One more case, and you will be blocked for making personal attacks. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:50, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent behavior is inappropriate. Please stop, and refrain from attacking other editors; there's no need for it. I've closed your RfA. Please consider waiting a substantial amount of time before nominating again, and certainly not before a few months of remaining completely civil to other editors. - Taxman Talk 01:39, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I asked a question about your request on the Reward Board which I posted here. I was wondering that if I could get Pwn to GA, I would be eligible for the reward even if it wasn't FA. Thanks! Greeves (talk contribs) 03:49, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of User:Flameviper/Flameviper

[edit]

I've nominated User:Flameviper/Flameviper for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that User:Flameviper/Flameviper satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also WP:USER and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Flameviper/Flameviper and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes. You are free to edit the content of User:Flameviper/Flameviper during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Metros232 20:07, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Incivility to User:Somitho

[edit]

This is not a particularly civil edit. Regardless of what Somitho has said or done to you on- or off-Wiki, vague threats and statements like "I am your better" don't contribute constructively to this project. I trust that you will consider your words more carefully in the future. A Train take the 18:41, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Off-wiki harassment, like threatening to cut off my Internet service, is not prohibited if I remember correctly. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 18:48, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Even though that's true it does not allow you to attack other people. WP:NPA is policy regardless of what other do to you. I have to say you're right on the edge of a serious block here. Don't make matters worse for yourself. Gwernol 18:52, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If I can't access Wikipedia anyway because he shut off my Internet service, what difference does it make? ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 18:54, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
How exactly was Somitho going to "shut off" your internet access? (Restored my edit; you have no obligation to answer my question, but simply removing it is not kosher.) A Train take the 19:04, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He said he was going to contact my ISP and "report" me for "harassment". Actually, I was just saying "OMG OMG OMG". Very scary indeed. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 19:06, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Civility

[edit]

This is your last warning. If you continue to make personal attacks on other people, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. . This edit summary and edit are clearly incivility and are personal attacks. Metros232 18:45, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See my above response. ~ Flameviper Who's a Peach? 18:48, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User talk Interactions

[edit]

Good evening (GMT time); first and foremost, well done on your contributions so far. Vandals-turned-Wikipedians are rare and that is to be commended. However, a few comments at the above page do give cause for concern: firstly, this comment's edit summary "...Cyde, if you have any guts whatsoever, you will reply to this like a man..." is not really what would be generally conceived as civility and refraining from biting. The discussion with Jpgordon also raises cause for concern - my advice is to completely refrain from those sort of tactics - it gives the distinct impression to your RfA voters that you "have something to hide".

In summary, I'm afraid you may have just blown you chances of sysopship through your incivility and my advice is to take a WikiBreak and, when things have calmed down, start a new leaf in terms of your editing manner.

Please don't hesistate to contact me if you would like a chat, or if you think I've bitten in anyway. Do take my advice into consideration - I believe I speak in the same frame of mind as the majority of the community when I pass on my beliefs on your user talk interactions.

Kind regards,
Anthonycfc [TC] 01:10, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

There's no way to "hardblock" a user name. The anon only/account creation blocked settings are ignored for username blocks. This appears to be a garden variety autoblock, which I have lifted. Thatcher131 20:45, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your userpage

[edit]

The message you had on your userpage, complete with its link to User:Somitho amounts to almost a personal attack - it is obvious that you are trying to mock the user. This is also against Wikipedia:Civility. I know you don't care for 'interference' (*eyeroll*, totally against what Wikipedia is about..) but it is a bad idea to mock users on your userpage, especially when you are currently in a dispute with them. --Veesicle (Talk) (Contribs) 21:31, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
