Single?

[edit]

What does the single column mean? -ErinHowarth (talk) 18:31, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The "Single" column means that the song was released as a single, available for download, if it says "Yes" for that song. If it says "No" either the songs was never released at all, or it was only released as part of an album, though it may have been orderable individually from that album. Original versions?

[edit]

I note that in the table there is a column, "original version" but that doesn't make sense, for instance, if a song is from a show, i.e. On My Own, the original version is noted as Les Misérables – which is the show it comes from. Equally Proud Mary is shown as Ike and Tina Turner, but the original version is Creedance Clearwater Revival. If by “original version” you mean the version copied by Glee, then further clarification is needed, if you are trying to signify where the song came from then the correct term is “songwriters” and NOT performers.

NB I am not familiar with the show, and the examples above are merely two of many. Cheers. --Richhoncho (talk) 14:19, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't an "orginal version" column. There is a 'version covered' column that represents which version of the song Glee covered. Robin (talk) 14:33, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, I should have said "version covered" rather than "original version" but I still don't understand what that means. Are you saying they copy the performance of the artist in which case they can't copy the film/musical's performance? Cheers. --Richhoncho (talk) 14:52, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, just the musical arrangement. I think that's pretty clear. Robin (talk) 14:54, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Only if you can identify from the table, which version of, say, Tonight (1956 song) is being copied. FWIW Hardly "notable" if it's only a copy anyway, but that's something else. --Richhoncho (talk) 15:14, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
