What's Twinkle?

[edit]

A simple Twinkle questions

[edit]

What's Twinkle? Gabi Salinas (talk) 19:41, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Twinkle a popular Wikipedia gadget that gives registered ("autoconfirmed") users many extra options to assist them in common Wikipedia maintenance tasks and to help them deal with acts of vandalism or unconstructive edits. For more information, see Wikipedia:Twinkle. Hope this helps, and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 19:43, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What's with Sockpuppets these days? Should we get more safety on these accounts?

[edit]

We need to stop Sockpuppets from making duplicate accounts! Hello, I'm Gabi. Contact me on my talk page if you have any questions. Gabi Salinas (talk) 19:50, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What happens if people misuse the Twinkle system?

[edit]

Hello there. What happens if users misuse the Twinkle system? I'm really curious about this and need to know what happens if users misuse Twinkle. Thank you! Gabi Salinas (talk) 19:54, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edits made with the help of Twinkle are treated the same as edits made manually or with automated tools like AWB. If an editor is making mistakes in their edits, other editors will undo those edits, warn about the errors, and - if the problem becomes serious enough - the editor may be blocked. Any user can enable Twinkle for themselves; I don't believe there is a way to prevent an editor in otherwise good standing from using it. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 20:01, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Another Wikipedia Question

What's Lua?

Can't use the nearby feature?!

[edit]

Everytime I use nearby, I get this error in a red box: Wikipedia Nearby is having some issues. Try refreshing your location. I need help on why I got this, please!? Gabi Salinas (talk) 21:42, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nearby is not a function of the Wikipedia website. It's an add-on feature that may be present in some mobile apps; mobile apps have ways of learning your location if you allow them to.
The reason you get the message is that the software doesn't know your location, either because it's not running on hardware that can track your location or because you have not allowed the app to use your location.
That being said, this is starting to become abusive of the {{help me}} template. Please confine your user of the template to questions about how to edit Wikipedia. Other questions about using Wikipedia may be asked at the Help Desk, the Teahouse, while questions that are not about using or editing Wikipedia can be asked at the Reference Desk. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:54, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1. I DON'T HAVE THE MOBILE APP! I don't even know if it's available. 2.I only use {{Help me}} if I need help. Thank you. Gabi Salinas (talk) 23:57, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

False information on an article

[edit]

Reporting false information on an article called Doki (TV series). That article states that it aired on YTV, which it did not, it stated that it originated in Canada but it originated in Latin America, and it said it was produced by Nelvana but Doki is produced by Portfolio Entertainment, Portfolio Animation Studio (Season 3) and even listed unaffiliated Paramount and Nickelodeon Animation Studio as distributors. IP that instered this false information is seen in the history. Please review these revisions before reverting. Thank you. EDIT: The links discoverykidsplay.com/Doki and portfolioentertainment.com/doki all go to Nickelodeon and Nelvana, as noticed.Gabi Salinas (talk) 21:33, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
