- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

India as superpower
[edit]Read WP:OR, WP:RS and WP:SYNTH.
Don't use those sources that make no mention of India becoming or not becoming "superpower". Aman Kumar Goel (Talk) 14:17, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Aman.kumar.goel
- how is that logical?
- I mean there are tonnes of sources out here that don't mention it. Gaurav6523 (talk) 02:28, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- You can remove those who don't mention "superpower" and you can also remove the information for which they have been used. Aman Kumar Goel (Talk) 02:52, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Aman.kumar.goel
- Your point is illogical. All wikipedia articles have sources linked which have nothing to do with the title directly.
- You don't seem to understand the concept of reference.
- So listen me up,
- a reference is a piece of date or information cited from credible primary or secondary sources, in order to back an assertion or argument.
- Thus, the reference must be related to the particular assertion it's backing, while may or may not be related to the subject of the article. E.g. Here, the subject is related to "the factors that are hindering India from becoming a superpower". So, obviously caste system is one such factor. Now, the sources I cited backed my argument of how 'the Indian society is still considerably divided by caste in terms of marriage, income, health and wealth.' That's it, I mean't to say that a superpower nation must have united societies, less economic disparity and the citizens must see each other equal, beyond unnecessary social boundaries like the caste system (which is outdated and irrelevant to the 21st century India, which aspires to become a superpower). Gaurav6523 (talk) 04:28, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- consider ignoring the typos. Gaurav6523 (talk) 04:32, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- This is not true because the United States is the only superpower right now, societies over there are not united either.
- See WP:SYNTH. As long as the source does not relate to the problem with status of "superpower", you shouldn't do that either. Aman Kumar Goel (Talk) 16:57, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Aman.kumar.goel cite sources. As of 2019 the percentage of interracial marriages in US was 19‰ (much higher than intercaste marriages in india, which was about 5% as of 2017). Gaurav6523 (talk) 02:33, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Gaurav6523! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Ayurveda several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Ayurveda, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Girth Summit (blether) 06:55, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

Further comment
[edit]Hi - two editors (including myself) have told you that they disagree with the change you want to make. You are welcome to use the article's talk page to propose the change and try to gain consensus, but repeatedly reinstating your change without consensus is disruptive. Please read through the links in the automated messages I have given you above. Thank you. Girth Summit (blether) 06:58, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Girth Summit ok sure, I wanna know all the points on which you don't want to approve my edit.
- My point is simple: A summary should be to the point.
- Look at the description of Homeopathy for reference.

- This is the wrong venue for discussion of the article's content; the article's talk page is for that. Go there to propose your change. Girth Summit (blether) 08:50, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
