[edit]
There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Request reason:

I am not associated with Gearbox Records but made the page as a favour for a friend of mine who is - I hadn't made a page before so didn't realise that such a username would throw up an issue. I assume the advertising part is the part about the turntables, or at least the part with a review of the turntable in, I will delete that part if I am given editing permissions back

Decline reason:

Please follow the instructions in the block notice to make an unblock request that also proposes a new username. As you state that you are acting on behalf of someone associated with the company, you still have a conflict of interest. If your friend is compensating you in any way(the compensation does not have to be money), you would be a paid editor as well. Your edits were promotional because they merely told about Gearbox Records; Wikipedia articles must do more, they must summarize what independent reliable sources state about a subject. I doubt you will be unblocked to continue to violate the policies I describe here; if you want to edit about topics unrelated to Gearbox Records, please tell what they are. I am declining your request; if you make another, someone else will review it. 331dot (talk) 15:50, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gearbox Records, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Aasim 15:19, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I did not and will not receive any form of payment for making the Gearbox Records page it was merely for something to do during downtime that I wished to try my hand at. If possible I would like to attempt to remake the page as I have no real attachment to Gearbox Records and do not care about it in any meaningful way, but if that is not allowed then I shall not attempt to, but would like a user to make changes to be able to edit other pages.

Decline reason:

This does not even mention your conflict of interest, nor does it tell us what you'd do differently if unblocked. Yamla (talk) 16:31, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
