Question from Liz

[edit]

Gerda, what is the nom day and answer day number? How you are scoring the answer? What's the scale? Why would your view of the answer change? Or have I gotten your columns completely wrong? Liz Read! Talk! 03:48, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Liz, nom day is the day in November the candidate entered, answer day the day he or she answered. I give the reason for the "good" symbol in the text: "good for me". Drmies puts best what I like to hear: I agree with OR even if I don't. Smoothes the process, DYK? See also. I have been on the receiving end of arbcom, as SilkTork explained (and defended) thoroughly, so have my own perspective, see also. When I want to discuss answers, I do it openly on the ACE pages. Here, everyone can just read and evaluate, and perhaps vote exactly for the candidates whose answers I didn't mark as good. None of those candidates will destroy the wiki ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:49, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Gerda, I appreciate you asking the question and putting together a candidate guide. Every guide is different which is great for editors reviewing them. Thanks for the explanation. Liz Read! Talk! 23:23, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I did it every year. The first year when I really couldn't believe what happened, I asked three questions, then trimmed it to one, then was asked to find a different topic, and obliged ;) - I asked this question last year already, - thank goodness nothing more interesting came up. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:30, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
