Issuing level 1 warning about removing AfD template from articles before the discussion is complete. (Peachy 2.0 (alpha 8))

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Quinn Ngawati. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 01:27, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that AFD is not like prod. You're allowed to remove a prod template if you disagree with the nomination — but at AFD, once the nomination has been opened the template must stay on the page until the AFD discussion is closed one way or the other by an administrator who is eligible to close the discussion, and may not be removed by anybody for any reason in the meantime. Not appropriate to revert

Rugby promotion on the Canada article

[edit]

Please don't promote rugby on the article any longer. The section you're adding the content to is about sports played in the country, not major events. If you want to link to an article about the tournament, do so in the appropriate section, but please don't push the sport. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:16, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Both kinds of rugby has a fairly long, and sporadic (rugby league) history in Canada, but the Wolfpack has attracted a fair amount of media interest and alot of interest within the rugby league community , also being the first transatlantic professional sports team in the world makes them unique. I might be giving it a push but when it grows to that level where it is played professionally then it surely deserves a mention. Its fair to remove the 2025 World Cup part, considering the sport in both the US and Canada hardly have any local leagues apart from wanting to play professionally see Montreal http://www.bailiwickexpress.com/jsy/sport/eric-perez-toronto-can-make-huge-difference-rugby-league/#.WJhoQRYnVEc But thanks for the heads up. But if and when the sport starts to attract and grow its supporter and player base I will include it in the article -especially to the point where there a number of professional teams..Getmefoodbb (talk) 12:15, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
History is not the point. It's good that included links to both codes of rugby, but it's really not a major sport despite having a good deal of local media interest (I am not in metro Toronto and I had to Google to find info on the team—no mention of it in my area). Being trans-Atlantic is unique, but still not sufficiently notable to list in the primary article. Feel free to discuss it on the article's talk page, but be prepared to support it with attendance and viewership numbers. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:00, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted additional references to this rugby team. This article is about all of Canada, and there is no need for such detail on one particular team.Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 19:14, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Getmefoodbb. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Ryan Burroughs, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
