Hi, thanks for the message. I hope I am doing things right. I've had a few some feedback from a user called GGS. It looks suspiciously like a bot, judging from the dialog. I'd like to get back online, I have declared my paid editing client, my first one. Thanks. George (getwrite) Getwrite (talk) 00:37, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I dream of horses Hi thanks for your earlier message. Just looking for some resolution thanks. Regards, George Getwrite (talk) 23:01, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Getwrite. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Getwrite. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Getwrite|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GSS (talk|c|em) 11:31, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for this. I am new to the commercial aspects of Wikipedia page editing. The client GreenCultureED is my first paying client. I confirm that I do not advertise any editing services anywhere on Wikipedia. Getwrite (talk) 08:41, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No you are not new and this wasn't your first paid job, please disclose your previous account. GSS (talk|c|em) 09:17, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

It's the same client. GreenCultureED. My FIRST PAYING CLIENT!!! Getwrite (talk) 09:50, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have been denied access to Wikipedia for an error on my part. I wasn't aware of the paid editing work for my first ever client GreenCultureED. Certainly I am now. I have been on Wikipedia for under a year updating music related historical articles. I understand that I would need to submit changes to a page through the Talk facility, and also client details, which we can do easily. Is there anything else that you require? Thanks. Getwrite (talk) 06:01, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You haven't been denied 'access' to Wikipedia, you have been denied the ability to edit Wikipedia. I think that it is unlikely you will be unblocked if your intention is to continue to edit about your clients. If you want to edit about subjects for which you do not have a conflict of interest, please state what those might be. (and please say who "we" is) I am declining this request. 331dot (talk) 11:33, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Thanks 331dot. By "we" I mean details supplied by the paying client, which is supplied to me, then uploaded to 'Talk' to be moderated by Wikipedia admin for inclusion on the relevant page. This was the process advised to me by another admin (Yanshui), and will now follow now that I know what to do.

For non client edits, I work mostly around rock music history, with links back to my 20 year old online resource GloryDazeMusic.com.

Thank you for your consideration. Getwrite (talk) 23:52, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You should make that statement in another unblock request, which will be reviewed by another heretofore uninvolved administrator. 331dot (talk) 23:57, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock Request 2[edit]

Following on from the post above, responded to by admin 331dot.

To clarify, by "we" I mean details supplied by the paying client, which is supplied to me, then uploaded to 'Talk' to be moderated by Wikipedia admin for inclusion on the relevant page. This was the process advised to me by another admin (Yanshui), for which I will follow, now that I know what to do.

For non client edits, I work mostly around rock music history, with links back to my 20 year old online resource GloryDazeMusic.com.

Thank you for your consideration. Getwrite (talk) 00:16, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You need to format it as you did with your initial request(as your block notice describes). 331dot (talk) 02:12, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
