Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Abdul Aziz bin Fahd, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. -- LuK3 (Talk) 20:36, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion

[edit]

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Abdul Aziz bin Fahd. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Merlin04 (talk) 20:40, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Abdul Aziz bin Fahd, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Merlin04 (talk) 20:41, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How is it a personal view HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 20:44, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How is referencing a well known qatari owned website that has a reputation for having conflicting opinions correct? HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 20:46, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The content that you removed had multiple websites for citations. Could you provide evidence that all of those websites have large biases that would make them unreliable? Also, please read the information at the top of your talk page about COI editing - in general, you should not edit pages that you are affiliated with. Merlin04 (talk) 20:49, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I represent His Highness, and I will not tolerate changes to his page that are uncalled for and are not verified by neither the Saudi government or internationl media organizations HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 20:50, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is the middle east eye a historical news organization? Every second article is against the saudi government with no professionalism and utmost disrespect HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 20:55, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If it is a matter of references, whatever their nature, then i will formally submit a complaint to Wikipedia on behalf of His Highness regarding the admins of this page HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 20:57, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A site can have articles critical of the Saudi government and still be able to be cited. Whether or not it is a "historical news organization" doesn't matter. Given that you have a COI, please read the information at the top of this page. The Saudi government and international media organizations do not have control over the page. Merlin04 (talk) 21:00, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The site is blatantly anti Saudi If it is acceptable to cite a biased website then I will provide acceptable references for every edit made.

HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:03, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding his date of birth, do you have a reason why you have reverted it? HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:04, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide a citation for the date of birth change, on Wikipedia "original research" is not allowed. As you have a COI, please discuss the changes you wish to make on the talk page of the article instead of directly editing the page yourself. You can see WP:Reliable sources for information about what Wikipedia considers a reliable source. Merlin04 (talk) 21:06, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The only citation there is His Highnesses word, which I believe to be better than any other source.

HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:09, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that there isn't a citation currently, so it is probably ok to change the birth date, sorry for the confusion. However, please request that someone make the change on the article's talk page - don't edit the page directly. See Template:Request_edit for information about how to do that. Merlin04 (talk) 21:11, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:40, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have a couple of questions HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:40, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the citation for his private airplane fleet? HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:41, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The link to his “fate” is a general link to CNN HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:45, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The citation to his falling out with late King Abdullah leads to a website for sale HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:47, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

“The fate of Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd is uncertain.” Where is the citation for this? HRHAbdulazizbinFahadSecretary (talk) 21:50, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In the article, there is a citation for his private airplane fleet. I'm not sure where you're seeing this link to CNN. If the citation leads to a website which doesn't exist anymore, use archive.org to find the website. There isn't a citation for the fate being uncertain, that should be removed from the article. Also, please don't edit the article directly, request edits on the talk page. Merlin04 (talk) 22:33, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
