May 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Katieh5584. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Cumbria without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Information icon Please refrain from making nonconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Cumbria with this edit. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. Thank you. A quick pointer[edit]

I see that you explained yourself on Katieh5584's userpage regarding your edits to Cumbria but noticed you didn't make that clear with most other people, and wanted to let you know that you should be communicating your reasoning with edit summaries so everybody can understand what you're trying to do.

If things still aren't clear, go to the talk page (link) of the article and explain yourself more thoroughly, maybe telling them what you told Katieh on her page. Thanks! Meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 04:39, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

December 2015[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Paul McCartney, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 21:45, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Ringo Starr. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Mlpearc (open channel) 22:51, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Paul McCartney. Sundayclose (talk) 22:58, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Paul McCartney. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sundayclose (talk) 22:58, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason why you replaced a Wikilink to a proper page (Coniston) to a disambiguation page (Coniston )? Carlotm (talk) 23:02, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ANI notice[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding Resolution. The thread is Continued addition of unsourced birth places. The discussion is about the topic Disruptive editing. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 16:02, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hackinghobb: Wikipedia settles content disputes such as this by consensus, but there can be no determination of consensus without discussion, so it is incumbent on you to answer the concerns of other editors on the various talk pages for the members of the Beatles. Fairlure to discuss, and continuing to revert instead, can get you blocked from future editing. Personally, I think you have a good argument, but that's useless if you don't actually make the argument and try to convince other editors. BMK (talk) 17:28, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi there. I noticed the discussion at AN/I. Please don't make any more edits like this one. They are not helpful to anyone, go against how we do things here, and consume others' time in removing them. I will be looking at your edits and if I see you make another edit like that I will block you. It would be ok to raise a central discussion regarding how we record locations in articles, but adding these historical counties willy-nilly to articles would not be. Let me know if you have any queries. --John (talk) 13:16, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

January 2016[edit]

The thread discussing your previous disruptive behaviour is here. Your are ignoring a very clear warning, given to you by User:John, exactly one month ago, here (see thread above). If you continue with this kind of edit you are very likely to be blocked from editing without further warning. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 23:14, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You've now made five such edits in the past 30 minutes. Please stop and get consensus for any such changes before making any more. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 23:22, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was so tempted to just block you per my previous warning to you, but I will hold off for now. If I see you make any more historical place name edits without consensus I will block you, for the reasons I gave you a month ago. --John (talk) 23:50, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
