[edit]Your submission at Articles for creation: BASE Magazine (May 5)
[edit]May 2022
[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:44, 5 May 2022 (UTC)
AfC notification: Draft:BASE Magazine has a new comment
[edit]- Hi @Theroadislong! Thanks again for your feedback. Of course, it's really disappointing to see that this wont be considered again for submission - is there no way around that? As I'm sure you are aware, this is my first time editing Wikipedia and I clearly have a lot to learn. Thank you for your suggestion of editing something that is not a conflict of interest to me, however, as I have openly disclosed as per requirements and proper etiquette, I am creating the page on behalf of and for the company that I work for, at their request. With that in mind, I am very aware of the need for neutrality, the purposes of Wikipedia as an Encyclopedia, and have taken on board the comments from yourself and others regarding the tone of the prose. Please can you indicate what more exactly I 'added' that is promotional in tone?
- I would also like to ask in what way the tone is vastly different to that of this page, which relates to a similar publication as BASE? If the main issue with this submission is the tone of the prose, I would really appreciate a little more in-depth feedback than what you are currently providing.
- All the best! HannahBASE (talk) 13:51, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- The article Sidetracked (magazine) is very poorly sourced, reads like an advert and could probably be deleted, using the other poor quality articles exist is not a good argument. Each and every sentence of your draft reads like advertising copy and it is simply not appropriate, it even starts with a spam link to your own website, you are free to ask for other opinions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk.
