Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Hiroxltd, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that your recent edits cite solely one source. This may be viewed as spam (WP:SPAM) by other editors. Also Wikipedia is not a text book (WP:NOTTEXTBOOK), however there are Wikiversity and Wikibooks, that may be more suitable for such content. I'm going to undo your edit on Analytical chemistry. If you have questions, please write them on the talk page. Tosha Langue (talk) 13:21, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, first of all, I want to welcome you to Wikipedia and thank you for wanting to improve upon already existing articles. I noticed, however, that on two separate occasions, you added a paragraph on two different articles that was completely copied from online sources.

I have reverted your edits on both of these articles, as they are considered to be copyright violations and Wikipedia doesn't allow content to be directly copied and pasted from online sources. I have listed the two articles below and wanted to use this opportunity to give you a heads up to make sure you aren't making the same mistake again.

I thank you once again and hope you continue to edit Wikipedia articles to make the internet a better place!

The articles in question: Town crier | Masquerade Festival in Igboland

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1][2][3] MrOllie (talk) 11:59, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
