Hello, I'm a person, I occasionally edit things. I usually forget to sign in, so there's a lot out there without my name on. My main areas are space exploration, comic books, politics and local knowledge but I am by no means an expert on any of them.

I deleted your edit to The Presence being Doctor Manhattan. Although Doctor Manhattan is powerful and Godlike in the DCU, there is no proof that he and The Presence are one and the same, and suggesting such contradicts what we know about both. also, in Rebirth, he didn't create the universe, he removed portions of time from it when the timeline was disturbed, as Wally West explains. Much like Anti-Monitor in COIE and Krona later on, the Hand motif is often seen, but isn't an indication of God. I hope you read this message and don't take it personally, but I'm sure you'll agree it's important to stop disinformation (accidental and understandable mistake, but still) before it spreads.-A Fellow fan.

Hi, since you're not signed in, I can't reply properly. I could perhaps change the edit just to say that Doctor Manhattan is implied to be The Hand in Rebirth, but it isn't clear. That way, it's up to date but deliberately left open in case things change. It does link in to Before Watchmen: Doctor Manhattan, when he creates a universe, suggested to be The New 52.

That's a point you could argue, but the problem is, Rebirth actually explains what he did (change the timeline, not remove the universe wholesale as seen/explained by Wally West here: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FPfnWNi3z9A/V0e4C_nCpCI/AAAAAAAUrGo/xGxTs9ciBIQhL5XYTTzzrzJE_KUpGtkTACLcB/s1600/12_13.jpg) and in Before Watchmen, he doesn't create a universe. He accelerates life on a planet to create life (http://i.imgur.com/dlNhrfS.jpg) If you want to argue that he's "The Hand" because we see his hand reaching through time when he manipulates the timeline to, that same argument could be applied to the Antimonitor doing the same in COIE (Seen here: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/b/b8/Anti-Monitor_(Antimatter_Universe)_003.png/revision/latest?cb=20090416004442) and Krona (seen here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lPhbBAoKPg4/USuFp4ECldI/AAAAAAAAKvI/XsgPQAYYunQ/s1600/A%2520Ring.jpg) Even Superman has a visual callback to it in Final Crisis when he activates the Miracle Machine. It seems to be just a shorthand for "Someone of cosmic power is messing with Space-Time" in the DCU. Again, not trying to be an asshole, just trying to clarify some misunderstandings I see a lot through out the internet -TerryAce (TerryAce)

I decided to compromise and listed it as a visual reference to the idea, since the Anti-monitor example was listed there too. Fair compromise? -TerryAce (TerryAce)

That seems fair enough. You make a really good argument, and I suggest you transfer it to the Talk section for The Presence, since it encapsulates the thought and debate process we were going through quite well, and means that if they change the representation in the future (i.e. the visual callback is a red herring) then they'll know what we were on about.

Speedy deletion nomination of Consortium (video game)

[edit]

Hello Hookorcrook,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Consortium (video game) for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Mani Talk 10:57, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony of Padua

[edit]

Hey there! I just had the rare experience of reading the article on Anthony, then seeing someone had just edited the article less than a day before. So I became interested in you, as you were presumably someone who knew more about Anthony than I. Anyway couldn't help but notice your correction of the autism article. I think the word you took out- "supernated" - whoever had written that had probably meant "supinated." Godspeed duder

Hah, I don't actually know a great deal about St. Anthony, but I was researching local linguistics and came across a common phrase when my area was an agrarian one. The phrase is "Anthony-pig" which refers to the last-born (runt) of a litter, who is given special care and protection by St Anthony, who was the patron saint of runts. I decided to look up St. Anthony and find out more, he seems a very impressive figure, even though I am not religious, we can all appreciate how amazing the guy must've been to be canonised within the living memory of his contemporaries. And thank you for correcting my spelling, I'll ammend the article now. Hookorcrook (talk) 02:56, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
