The pages was deleted as a copyright violation because the material was from a biography hosted on the web site of the National Academy of Sciences; to be specific, it was this pdf. That document carries a copyright notice "Copyright 1974 NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES". That text needs to be freely licensed in order to be used on Wikipedia. That would be possible if the copyright holder releases it under a free license. To do that, Wikipedia would need to received a consent letter from the copyright holder confirming a free license. You can make such a request to the National Academy of Sciences. Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission provides more informtion about what you need to do. Until a free license is verified, the article will need to remain deleted as we lack evidence of permission. As you have a relationship with the subject of the article, you have a conflict of interest and should be aware of Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy.
